Thanks. Ordered a set. I've been afraid to hammer on the ends of my wilde made craftsman.

Ordered for store pickup- I have the red handle set and the 36" red handle, so this will be a nice addition.

Are these like the regular version, but with a better handle?

Very similar. And assuming they are still the same, they are made in USA by Mayhew, although I believe the grip is made in Taiwan (the steel part is USA made, which is what matters).

Thanks! I've been waiting on these to go on sale before I bought another set. I've got a set already, and they are great bars.

Nice. Ordered that last set for store pickup at my local store. Unlike the Wilde ones that frequently go on half price sale, these Mahew I don't think ever go on this kind of half off deal. Great Deal.

I also used my shop your way points, so this set is going to cost me $22 out the door.

I have the Wilde set, but this set with the striking caps is just to good a deal to pass up. I've been waiting for them to go on a deep discount sale.

I just swore that I won't buy any more tools for a while. But I had to give in on this one

I really hope the Steel for the Bar is better than the $19.99 set. One use for me and the tip is screwed up. Good deal though for sure.

Hopefully you're using merchants apps to buy stuff online. The cellphones browsers are too vulnerable for identity theft. In my opinion of course.

So, what's the difference between this set and the regular Craftsman set? It appears to weigh a quarter pound more or so. Are they just a bit beefier?

These are striking prybars, with a steel shank through the comfort grip handle and a striking cap at the end of the handle.

Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. Just picked mine up. Made in the USA.

Compared to the Wilde bars (which I also have), these bars:

1. Have nicer handles, ergonomic, soft, and feel good in the hand.
2. Have striking caps.
3. (Subjective on my part) The actual metal pry bar portion seems higher quality steal and manufacturing process. So (subjective) these might be stronger.

Highly recommend. And I never see these on such a deeply discounted sale price. Get them while they got them today!

I believe these are made by Mahew. The regular ones are by Wilde.
Thanks.

For the Wilde versions, I can't tell how far the shaft extends into the handles.

The description for this Pro set states, "Shaft goes through the handle for greater prying power", making me wonder if the regular version may snap at the plastic handle if too much force is applied.

Thanks OP. Elyria Ohio has 1 more set. Note that these are not price as clearance in the store, so bring a printout. Also note that these were not in the prybar section (why would I think they would be....), they are in the automotive tool area.

Based on these screen captures from the video of workers at Wilde inserting the shaft into the handle, it looks like the shaft is inserted about halfway (maybe 50%) into the handle. (See the red line that indicates the top of the shaft in the before and after picture).

Since the professional versions are striking capped end, the shaft would go 100% end-to-end.

But the hard handles of the Wilde are very stout, and I don't know anyone that has ever reported snapping the handle. And even if you did, they are lifetime warranty for free replacement.

Here's also the link the the Wilde video, at the 1:20 point you see the pry bars.

I have both a set of the red handle and the pros. The pros don't bend nearly as much. I just bought an additional set of the pros. You almost never find them on sale.

Thanks OP! Nearly pulled the trigger a bunch of times on the Wilde but really wanted the Mayhew. Almost 50% off is the lowest price I've seen.

Dammit, every time I think I'm finally done with Sears, something I really want pops up on here for 1/2 price. Had to get them, I love the feel on the CM Pro handles (love my picks), and I know the standard set of CM pry bars I have won't hold up to my shop use (already had to hit them with a hammer, so I will use the striking caps).
