Huot tool chest

Listed on Craigslist, emailed and he said he would take $50 - I don't really need it but if that's a good price I'll get it just because - what says GJ, good deal?

Description:
I have a older Huot tool chest top and bottom box with 9 drawers on wheels with side self could use a paint job I'm asking $80.00 or best offer I don't have any keys.

that is not a huot top box. if it was. it would have the same stamped logo. i know my top box does. 50 is a decent deal though. i would love to put my huot top box on that cabinet.

Is that a SO top box? If so you really ****. I looked at that thing several times on CL, but just didn't pull the trigger. I think you did very good.

I've been looking for another Huot roller and was trying to figure out a way to get that one... and I live in Connecticut.

Get it. (Then if you don't like the bottom, give it to me :lol:

The top could be a huot, mine does not have the stamp on the lid. It could be a MBC which was the maker of SO boxes early on or it could be a SO. If it is SO it will stamped on the back.

That's what I am wondering. It is certainly not a Huot top box, but it isn't **** either.

I'll agree with the others that say that the top is an MBC. $50 is a good deal no matter what.

Could be, mine has the stamp but has different handle pulls than that one. I have a Snap On with the EXACT handles and it's stamped on the left side near the bottom rear corner.

Those are quality built boxes, I would be all on that!

Top box appears to be a Union (couldn't find a date stamp anywhere):

Oh hell yeah. I think sometimes we (myself included) get hung up on price. The question I ask myself on those deals is, "Will I get $50 of use from it," and, "What else could I buy for $50?".

Nice buy. I like the side table. That's worth half the purchase price. :thumbup:

$50 is a great deal for that combo...at first I thought it was just for the top box, which would've been okay if you needed it.

Top definately made by MBC, I bought this one used in the mid 60's. They made boxes for SO and probably sold under other names also.
