I saw this the other day and thought it was fascinating; I never knew that made such a thing and I can see how helpful it would be during carb work. Anyone remember these or see one before?

This is a later 1/4 drive set, maybe early 50's. If it was a 40's 9/32 set, I'd be very interested. The earlier version of this set's box has sold for as much as $200 for the box alone. This probably wont appeal to a snap on collector as much as it would to a carb collector or someone who works on these old carbs. I'd guess $400-600 is what it goes for.

Wow I could sure use it. Every car I work on has a carb on it. I have a Snap On adjusting set I got in the early 80's that's real handy. That set would sure be nice for all the carb rebuilding I do. Just got done with 3 old Holley 94's for my Offy intake on my 292 Y-Block.

Jim - if you don't go for it, perhaps I will. I do qjets, aisins, strombergs and gasp!, even a couple of ford vv's, so I already have a pretty complete collection of tools for all of them. But, this set has some vintage Carter measuring tools! Even though I don't need them, I'm very tempted.

Chad, you're absolutely right. But I get it back it my carb restoration prices. Not a whole lot of folks in my area that have the background, tools and knowledge to mess with these infernal contraptions anymore.

I got people begging me all the time to fix their classic carb stuff, and that's not even my job nor do I need the money.

Go for it. I am sure it's going to go out of my price range.

I have one of the gigantic sets shown, with lots but not all of the carb tools SO had in the mid '50's and enough catalogs to figgerout what most of the gauges are for. Bought it about 10 years ago...had to stop eating for a while, but the set is so awesome I had to have it! Always looking for missing bits...
It also contained about a hatfull of mystery widgets for adjusting bands and such on '50's automatic transmissions.
