I was at the Flee market this morning and found this 1/2" Ratchet for $2.
No markings, looks Generic, but operates quite and smoothly.
Figured that it is a Import Tool...but for $2, I'll beat the Snot out of it!
Anyone seen one like this before?

My original thorsen which looks mostly like that had markings on it as has all others I've run across. P & C is from the same company and all I've seen or owned have markings.

That design is excellent. The reversing mechanism is the easiest I've used. It is also compact. Only shortcoming is that it is not fine tooth.

Thoesen and P&C open gear ratchets are indistinguishable from each other, and I think Indestro used the same head, if not the round knurled handle (Not sure on the Indestro handle). very solid ratchets, if a bit on the low side for tooth count... My 3/4 Rat is a P&C open gear, and I have a 1/2 P&C as well as several Thorsen in 3/8, and at least one each in 1/4 and 1/2.

That one was not made by Thorsen.

Thorsen-made open gear ratchets have a big stud on the back of the gear that goes through the ratchet body. The Indestro-made ratchets have a little stud on the back of the gear that goes through the head.

Here's a 3/8" Indestro (on the left) and a 1/2" Thorsen (on the right). Ignore the fact that this Indestro ratchet has a different handle design. They made them with a variety of handle designs.

I suspect the OP's ratchet was made by Indestro.
