A few weeks ago I finally started to reboot my shop and make it usable again after a semi-desperate re-config to open up enough space to put my car in it ('69 Beetle convertible no-likey winter rains, wife said "Hell No!™" to a canopy - and honestly, I agree) Then, over the weekend I stumbled on Jack Olsen's world-famous 12-Guage Garage (via my friends at Evil Mad Scientist Laboratories) and its epic thread on GJ - I'm now doubly-inspired to get my garage going again!

I especially find the before-and-after posts motivating (and the ones in-between informative, or at least entertaining) so I took a bunch of "before" pictures and will start a Gallery thread once I figure out the imageshack stuff; I hope posting my own progress will spur me to keep making and posting more. Sometimes it seems like there is SO MUCH that needs to get done that it helps to see where you can get if you just keep at it, one step at a time.

Welcome to the Journal.

Lenore at Evil Mad Scientist was very patient with my slow-third-grader's grasp of electronics. Nice group, there.

Heh, yep, I really can't say enough good things about them and plug their kits and things to anyone that will listen. I should probably do a Free Parking thread of things I've built with stuff from them - in the mean time here's this Halloween's Classic Robot costume

And your deck is spectacular!

Welcome, I think Jack's garage has brought a couple thousand people here. Somewhere on here is a whole 'before and after' thread for your viewing pleasure.

Welcome to the Garage. I believe Jay is right... either that or the band of roaming midgets that kidnap you and force you to read "Garage Journal" for hours on end :shocking:
