Their on sale this month and I'm looking for an upgrade. I wrench for a hobby so the snappy's are a bit to spendy. I'm hoping that the cornwells are a step above the gearwrench. Thoughts? Opinions?

The Cornwell bit drivers are made in Taiwan by VIM. They're made from S2 steel and will twist instead of shatter. Do you have a Gearwrench set and it didn't work out for you? Do you have a Cornwell dealer? They're not as good as the gold colored heavy duty torx bits from Snappy but, the Cornwell/Vim versions will serve you well for hand use.

There pretty good sockets but there still probley over priced on sale. There made in Taiwan there not much different then what you got. There made by Vim you can buy them cheaper elsewhere under the Vim brand. The snap on gold ones are super strong but spendy. Craftsman usa ones, duralast, gearwrench cornwell and most the Taiwan ones are about the same quality! Chinese are garbage stay away from them!

I have the 28 piece set, with a couple broken ones. Seem to be good quality for what they are. I've replaced the broken ones with Matco ones, as there's no ******** guy around here, and hasn't been for at least 5 years.

I really wish people would quit saying that. How would you feel is someone misspelled and mispronounced your name on purpose? Eugene Cornwell was an excellent blacksmith and a real American.

Zero complaints and I would recommend them. Sounds like you already have a gear wrench set, I can not say they are any better then those.

Thanks everyone for the feedback. I was looking to buy the short, long, as standard depth. The long gear wrench ones I have are ball end and mark the fastener heads. I looked at the GW site and didn't see a long hex driver that was just a square end. Their is a cornwell guy I'm my area. I would love the snap-on but I need to upgrade my current mill and want to purchase a tig welder before I spend close to a grand on hex sockets.

I think I remember reading somewhere that Vim no longer makes the Cornwell bits.
I've broken the gold Snapon bits (torx) and never broken my Vim bits.
