Lowes clearance: Nicholson files

I went to the Lowes near my parents house in port charlotte, fl and all the nicholson files were on clearance for roughly 50% off. I found some on the back that are made in usa and purchased those. YMMV.

I bought 3 or 4 today, all USA made. They seem to have the USA ones in the back in each instance where there was one in stock.

Love the Hot deals.

Picked up 4 USA made files and a pair of Knipex mini bolt cutters.
Files were half price and the Knipex were $27 and some change. Used my Lowes card for an additional 5%.

Wow, I went back to Lowes and found some USA files in the back. I'm ashamed of myself for not spotting them the first time!

Pretty funny, in 100% of the cases the US-made files were at the back of the rack and the Mexico/Brazil made ones were on the front of the hook. Don't forget the handle sold separately, was $1.98 on clearance if i remember correctly.

I just got back from Lowes...I picked up 6 or 7 files. One Brazil, one Mexico, and the rest are USA. I left quite a few on the rack. But there are 3-4 lowes in my area...

Yep, I picked up some USA files too. They had everything at this Lowes from USA to Brazil to Viva las Mexico (Blue Streak - Martin Lawrence).

Out of curiosity, how much were they? The handles were $1.98 or the files?

Just to let you guys know you can see most of these items on their website with real time inventory at every store and prices. Lowes website is actually pretty useful.

Lowes inventory tracker is almost never right. Plus you won't be able to tell if they have USA files.

To help save time for those searching for Made in USA:
they have USA printed on the lower left corner of the packaging. the others do not.
this will help from flipping the package over to read the fine print or reading the stamping on the file.

The larger 10" files were $5.**, the 8" files were between $3.48 and $4.48, and the 6" files were $2.48.

The rubber/plastic handle was $1.98 and the wood handle was about the same.

I have a picture posted in the "Show your new tool arrival" thread. Everything in that picture was $27 out the door

8" half round Brasil, 10" flat USA, 10" mill, USA, 12" mill, USA. ~21 bux out the door. The USA's were at the back of the rack, so I had to dig thru every file they had. Got asked wtf I was doing, and replied "Hoping for the diamond in the rough" Not a bad deal, thinks I.

Had to look to the back of the hook, but found 1-10 inch for just under $5.00. Made in USA, all others were mexico or brazille. Salesman looked at me like I was crazy. Said "don't you know nothing is made in the USA anymore".

Went to another Lowes and it was just the opposite. All the kobalt files were on clearance and the nicholson files were all regular price.

Stopped by Lowes today for a few stones to sharpen the chain saw and did the tool aisle stroll. Had forgotten about this deal until I ran into it. Grabbed 2 10 inchers and the half round 8 inch. I didn't realize at the time that they were ever made in the USA so all mine are Brazil - didn't dig - lesson learned. Got 4 handles also - less than 2 bucks a piece - marked China FYI but nice. Thanks to the OP :rocker:

Went to two stores, the first one had a bunch of USA and I grabbed 2 of each if they were available. Grabbed a Brazil half round too as they didn't have any USA in that. They also had the handles for $1.98 which I cleaned out.
Second store had a single 12" USA and some handles, but the handles were $2.** still and not half off. No 6" files at either store on clearance. Grabbed a Kobalt 8" and 10" round file. They were on clearance for 50%, but they are made in China. Don't have any round files so I figured they would still be handy.

Also saw some Kobalt 11" 90 deg bent nose pliers half off for $6.79 so I grabbed those too.

Yea I am going to rescind that statement after having more experience with it. Their website looks nice but is buggy as hell.
