I've been put on the pad . . . A.K.A bought off!
As of now, I will no longer make slanderous remarks about any of Danaher's products.
Yes, that includes Craftsman.

BTW, you DO know that those pliers are made in China, right? In any case, I have that set of pliers, except it says NAPA instead of GearWrench. China aside, they are top-quality pliers.

The jaws meet each other squarely like they should.
The pivot joints are tight.
The operation is smooth.
The overall quality is very good.
Them GearWrench workers over in China must be under some seriously stringent supervision.

Nice, pics! What camera do you use? I reserve the right to criticize any brand, of any tool; its ok "if its junk, its junk, its junk... no matter what the warranty!"; no matter who makes it! Thats the strength of this site; to share what works well and what doesn't!

I am not as satisfied with my pair of Gear-X. Maybe Merkava got an older or newer pair? The jaws on mine have burs on both sides of the jaw! =( It can be cleaned up with a square file, but there's no reason to have to work on a brand new tool like that.
I'll try to take photos if I can.

Mine, bought mid-'07 iirc, needed a little bit of fettling. Bad batch ? Improvements as time's gone on ? Who knows, but they've been greatly abused putting together kitchen cabinets* and show no signs of getting loose. I'm happy enough for the money.
*I dimly recall a time when I used my tools on cars

We should sticky Merk's comment, that he will never complain about another Danaher tool (see how long it lasts).
But, it always is shocking to me, that no one ever corrects, the incorrect Kool-Aid reference.

Damn Merkava! - I haven't even read the thread yet, but was again amazed by your photos. I just want to know how I and the rest of us can put together those wonderful photos like you do. Believe me, the whole board would jump to a whole new level if you just gave us your tips and expertise.

I have the blue point set. They are good tools, with no made in USA counterpart, but they are still made in Taiwan.

Yea right, he will just delete the post like he always does. I have to say Merkava has been slowly admitting that some of the lower priced tools work, and there is a place in toolboxes for non Snap On tools
