I have been searching through and trying to find information for a good DIY book for electrical but can't find any titles mentioned. Does anyone have a particular book that has worked well for them? Looking for the basics nothing supper in depth.

Thanks!

Home Depot and lowes have book sections up by the cash registers. There is usually a good selection.

I picked up one at a big box years ago. (IIRC, the Black and Decker one...) Get one with lots of diagrams for different situations... The code check books are also pretty good as reference.

I think I may check out the Black and Decker one.

As a side note looking online more about the book it sounds like the Kindle down load *****. Just and FYI to everyone.

Thanks guys!!

Not sure if it matters to you but I would get a book which uses the nec version your state uses.

I use the code check electrical from The Taunton Press.

Code check electrical is good for more advanced begginers as it doesnt go into detail on everything. Its more of quick code reference quide!!

The Black and Decker one is great. I got the previous edition from eBay/Half.com- you can get it for a couple dollars, and stuff hasn't changed that much. Espeically not for basic stuff such as 3 way switches and replacing outlets.
