Nice! Vaughan are the only Hammers I use for Finish Work and Framing. Great quality stuff right there.

Too bad there are no Mernards out here...

Anyone willing to buy me one? PM me, I'm in 27409

They will ship it for a total of $22.49 shipping is $4.96 and there is a processing fee of $2.80. That's probably the same if not cheaper than anyone could ship you one for.

I tried to add one to my shopping cart earlier & run through the checkout process and was told it was sold out. Figure I'll wind up just getting one from the Vaughan website.

I went to Menards today to buy one of these. :(

These Americans working in Vaughan's plant really need to go to Taiwan and learn how to make a decent hammer. There were 8 of them on the rack. I had to go through all 8 to find a single one where the forging/broaching was done correctly. Not even the **** from Harbor Freight has that bad of quality control!

Regardless, I found one that was made correctly. I haven't had the chance to use it for an extended period of time, but it's actually quite odd feeling. If you just pick it up by the middle of the shaft or the head it feels crazy light for a framing hammer. However, if you hold it by the grip and swing it around, it's much harder to stop it than with my "normal" 21oz framing hammer. With all the weight in the head, their assertion that it weighs 17oz but hits like a lot more just might be true.

I noticed some inconsistencies with the finish as well, but nothing that would affect the usability of the hammer.

Nope, these were forging/broaching errors that absolutely affected the usability of the hammer. Finish was basically perfect on all of them.

All of them (including the one I bought) had the "nail starting" feature broached wrong. They ranged in depth from just an outline of where it should have been to about half the depth it would need to be in order to start a 16d common nail. Additionally, several of them had the V for the side nail puller either not really there at all or with straight sides such that it would never grab a nail. Two had the face of the hammer off-kilter so it wasn't perpendicular to the shaft.
