Now carpenters can get on the Snap On bandwagon.

Snap On Nail Guns

What do you want to bet that they are made offshore and just get the SO badge slapped on?

I don't have experience with All Trade Tools but the nail guns are priced about the same as Hitachi, Senco, and the other nail gun manufacturers minus a few of their standard features.

It seems to have the same SO dignity and unique design as those lights they were selling awhile back at Ace Hardware.

I saw a sample copy of Ace Hardware's upcoming Black Friday ad, and they have a SO flashlight and a SO flashlight & knife combo set! Wow, a $2 import knife with a SO logo!!

I don't know that I'd call Alltrade "bad", but they're not high-end, by any means.

I've got a 5-gallon Alltrade air compressor that I bought about 4-5 years ago (my very first air compressor ever!) and it still works great - well worth the $100 I paid for it.

Alltrade stuff is sold by Schucks/Kragen type places. It seems on the lower end of the quality/prestige spectrum.

Of course, that'll all change now, what with the Snappy logo on it! :D

I don't think they're going to grab much of the carpenters market share. There's already way too many established players out there. Besides I can't see SO trucks pulling up to building sites to sell these things. SO also will most likely never offer these at a Depot, Lowes, or Menards so all you've got left is internet or truck sales. I just can't see some carpenter buying something like this online or hunting down a SO truck to get one serviced. Just my .02 and I also agree that it's most likely a rebadged import.

P.S. I've got a Paslode F350 framing nailer and the thing is awesome! I like bostich too.

Hmm... could be a smart marketing move by Snap On. A lot of the techs that I know around here are also very active in construction (either on their own stuff or as a second job) and would probably consider a S/O nail gun considering the S/O reputation in tools...

seems like a very low investment venture to me...

product already exsists
paint it a different color and put on a different name
print a new box

someone will buy it

I bet they don't offer it very long. What speaks to mechanics does not necessarily mean it will speak to carpenters and I think they will find that out in short order. They are not only out of their class, but there are several brands that already have a dedicated following that would not even give them a second glance! In the carpenters world the best they might hope for is second banana, and that is assuming they are wildly successful in their efforts!
