Thought I would start my own thread on my, new to me, garage in Southern Indiana.
My wife and I purchased a house back in April and spent about 9 weeks working on the house before we actually moved in (paint, carpet, counter tops, appliances, faucets, kitchen cabinets, etc).
Here are a few pictures of how the garage was when we took possession of the house.

It's an 'oversized' 2 car that measures 25.5' deep x 26.5' wide with 10' ceilings, that seems huge compared to my last garage (24' deep x 20' wide).
That extra 6 feet on the width, makes a big difference.

Finally, after all of the house projects were mostly done, we moved in.
Most of you know, towards the end of the move day when you're tired, worn out and not sure where things go, they end up in the garage.

So after the hole patching. I started on the paint. My two previous garages had white paint on the walls, so I decided to throw a little color to spice things up. I went with gray. ;) With a darker gray for the trim/cabinets.

Then I started hanging a few things on the wall.
I hung the Stop Sign up first, then my original location for the tire rack didn't work out, so the Stop Sign was moved after this picture was taken.

I have an Audi Allroad twin turbo, and I'm considering an S4 convertible right now!

So yes, more pics please - or at least some we can see!

Still a lot of stuff to do.
Lights are a definitely a priorty.
New light switches and outlets/covers.
Baseboard
Hang all the pretty stuff on the walls.
Still a little painting to do.
Need to find a place for the jacks, I don't like them sitting out.
And the floor...still not sure what to do yet.

Cool B7 S4 with the factory body kit, not something you see everyday.
Nice storage in that garage.

I do have one picture of the S4 in the garage, kinda. It just shows how much room I have between the front of the car and the workbench.
Obviously, the Q7 takes up a little more room, but my wife wasn't home when I snapped this picture.

This is great, i knew it would be something i would enjoy the further i scrolled down. Then i saw the Hartman wheel boxes :) Are those the stock b7 S4 bumpers, or did you swap to RS4 pieces? BTW always been a huge fan of the B5 S4, just could never afford the maintenance haha.

Keep up the good work.

I like it. Looks like you are pretty set for storage! I'm subscribing just in time to see you put the finishing touches on. An alloy/graphite and red RaceDeck floor would look pretty sweet in there. Nice stable of Audi's, too.

Thanks...a little inspiration came from your garage, among a few others on here.
Yes, the S4 is completely stock. Its one of the 25quattro edition cars, only 250 made. The body kit is very similiar to the DTM Package you could get on the 07 S4's.
The B5 was very reliable for the 10 years I had it. The only big item (read $$) that let me down was the alternator ($700 to replace).

Thanks Rick. I've been subscribed to your garage for awhile now. I keep going back and forth between yours and dubbers. Not sure if I'm ready to pull the trigger quite yet on the RaceDeck. But I love the look of it.

Awesome to hear thanks, that's one of the great things about this forum, its definitely a breeding ground for ideas and inspiration.

Never heard of that S4, thanks for the info. And man were you ever lucky with the old S4, and so is the new owner

Yep, they're a good source.

I'm surprised you felt the need to upgrade the brakes on the Q7, I thought they had that all sorted out by now.

One of the few really weak points in most owner's minds on my Allroad are the brakes. They work fine, they stop the car well, but they always feel mushy and difficult to modulate to me, especially compared to the brakes on my MINI, which are awesome!

The funny thing is, all the Audi sedans I've ever driven (and I've owned and driven a bunch over the years) had wonderful brakes.

Not so much of an upgrade as a decrease in the brake dust. For a 5000lb truck, the thing stops right NOW. But the dust was killing me. So I went with the Ceramic pads and went ahead with the rotors as well, while I was in there.

I have ATE rotors and Hawk LTS pads on mine. I put them on shortly after purchasing the car since the OEM pads created the worst brake dust known to man. I have 56k kms on it now, and it could use a new set.

Its pretty funny seeing most new luxury European cars, and even dubs, a lot look like they are driving around with two sets of wheels, black at the front and alloy at the back. OEM pads are crazy for brake dust.

What year is your Q7? Did you have any problems getting the rear caliper bolts out?
The brake dust was horrible with the stock pads!

Sad to say, but I've been guilty of that. The pads on the S4 are dust heavy as well. They will be getting replaced before the summer is out with Hawk HPS pads and ECS slotted rotors (same as I had on the B5).

The coat of wax I put on the Hartmann wheels before I put them on the Q7 really helps with cleaning the brake dust off. Doesn't take much effort to wipe them down.

My Q7 is a 2009. I didn't do the work myself. Apart from my annual winter wheel swap and regular details, I leave everything else up to the professionals.

Sorry I couldn't be of more help*.

Are the cabinets custom made? They are quite glossy but the front picture shows some wood grain through the paint so I'm guessing custom built?

Ha ha, no worries. Just wondered if I was the only person that struggled getting the rear caliper bolts loose.

No the cabinets were purchased at Lowes. Fairly cheap for garage cabinets, but they are doing the job for now. The woodgrain you see may just be my lack of ability to paint.

I put ceramic pads (Akebono's) on my Audi too and for exactly the same reason - the front wheels looked like **** all the time. My car has the dual spoke wheels so they were twice as hard to keep clean. Now they look great all the time with very little effort.

Mine look like this, they have an extra set of spokes bolted over the inner set. supposedly for strength. You can see what a PITA they'd be to keep clean.
