Alright damnit, I've been holding out on these but at that price I'll try one. Ordered before Amazon goes psycho, actually got the $162.81. Says ships in 2-4 weeks, and I'm in no hurry, but with such lead time I wonder if they won't just cancel my order after a week or two? We'll see.....

Save quite a bit more than that if ordered through Zukit.com using the amazon URL.

Anybody have one of these that can give a small review? kinda pricey for what it is. looks like although you bend your back, it takes some load off? Im a young guy, maybe that would help my back in the long run. But also looks like you'd be stretching/reaching for some things at times whereas standing right above it, you're right there?

It's great for working on 4wd Superdutys. I even used mine to change the plugs in my 03 F150 Lightning. I wish I paid that for mine, it was around $230. I have one pic of it in the garage. I'll warn you, the thing takes up a lot of space even folded. I ended up moving it to a utility building to store it. It's all the way down in that pic, it goes up around 6' tall if I remember correctly. it helped me reach stuff at the back of the engine compartment without having to lean so heavily on the fenders and radiator.

I've been watching this out of curiousity, as of this afternoon it's up to $161.99.

Yeah, apparently I have no life.

So I ordered mine, fed ex delivered it last week. I just put it together, but it appears they added a safety feature and it will not fold up with the safety installed. Unless I am completely missing something, I guess I will have to remove the safety. Anyone else have any experience with it not folding? I watched the video on the website and they do not have the safety installed and it folds easily.

Update.......

It appears that until you break it in the coating on the steel gives a lot of resistance. I did get it to fold, if It doesn't loosen up I may back off the bolts at the pivots.

I received mine last week as well, and assembled it a couple nights ago. I thought I had the same problem as you, but mine was operator error.

If the 'safety feature' you are referring to is the metal bracket that fits over the notches on top of the height adjustor on the base, it does not interfere with the operation nor the ability to fold it up. It certainly appears to, but it doesn't.

Follow the instruction on the video, making sure the angle adjustment piece is closest to the ladder legs as indicated in the video. Now lift the legs to close it up until it seems to bind, which will be about half way up. Then just pull or push a little harder and it should fold right up.

If that doesn't work, slightly loosen the bolts on the bottom of the ladder legs and try again. There is definitely a "catch' when you lift through that point, but it doesn't require a lot more effort or anything - just a little extra muscle for a second.

BTW, I have a different problem with mine - the base won't fit around the 40" tires on my truck, so it's gonna go on Craigslist. I hope somebody will buy it for what I have in it, as I REALLY don't want to try to pack it up and ship it back. UGH!

Could you remake the base to fit the tires? Or maybe drive the tires onto some blocks and see if it gives you enough clearance. I have wanted one of these suckers for two years, of course I won't need mine for another month or so, but it looks like I can even use it on my Freightliner. Another group that seems to like them is model railroad enthusiasts. They can get to the back of the display without destroying things.

Good to know. I really want one of these, but if they won't clear 40's...then they won't clear the 39.5's on my truck. It would work on my DD...but my wallet doesn't agree right now...
