"Tools--the most important man-made product on earth"

Bolt's Antique Tool Museum in Oroville, CA is the place to be if you love tools.
Maybe one day I'll walk in through their doors.

Below are scanned pages from a 2009 edition of a Japanese tool magazine called Factory Gear.

I hope you enjoy. :)

Looks neat, BUT I'm ~95% there are folks on this forum that have a better "museum" of old tools than that. :lol_hitti What's sad to me is that those tools don't get a chance to get used. Look at them, all chained up and restricted.

I wonder if he has any old tool boxes on display? :dunno:

Here are a few videos and pic of the place. For those of us that don't read Japanese. ;)

LOL we have to learn of this place from the Japanese...

Been through Oroville many times and had no idea such a museum existed. Would have been a great stop for one of our antique car club tours.

I tried to blow up the inset picture of that Blackhawk 7/16" drive set, but the quality isn't very good.
So, the only two suggestions I can give you is press your "ctrl" button down and use the "+" button to zoom in; "-" to zoom out. The other suggestion is to go to Alloy Artifacts' link which will have a bunch of good pictures.

Oh, apparently, the owner, Mr. Bud Bolt, a former Snap-On franchise owner, searched for 52 years before he finally found his first set of 7/16" drive Blackhawk tools. That's a long time for a search in tools...before the days of the internet and ebay.

I believe I have those exact pliars - though some jerk used them for welding, presumably long before I was born, and pitted them.

I personally feel that they're too nice to be sacrificial welding ****, even if they're basic. Unplated carbon steel, protected by the quality of the steel and a patina = win.
