Great timing, I was looking to place an order sometime in the next week or so. Looks like I need to make some color decisions.

New 30' x 40' Shirk pole barn going up in the next 30 days. I wanted to use concrete sealer & not epoxy on the floors. What do you recommend? A densifier & sealer? Or just a sealer? How long should I wait after the pour to apply?

Thanks

Why do you say that? It is certainly true there are vendors who are members of this site. It is also true they are in the business of selling flooring products. But they also answer questions that people have about their floors and they offer discounts to the members here. Why is that a "bad" thing?

Also, nobody is twisting your arm to buy flooring products from the vendors here. You are free to buy what you want, where you want, and for whatever price you can find it for. But a lot people here, myself included, happen to think it is a good idea to have vendors frequent this site, answer questions and offer discounts to the members. It's good for the vendors, it's good for the members, it's good for the site admin, it's good for everybody.

So please explain, why the comment?

Scotty,

Years ago I painted my 30' x 30' garage floor(I know - big mistake), and its peeled a lot. And I also have a lot of spalling on the part of the garage floor slab outside of the door( about a foot wide x30').

I read somewhere that densifiers slow the spalling process. I'm thinking of grinding/sanding the paint off and applying densifier to the whole slab to include the 1' wide part outside of the doors. What do you think?

I am considering applying Latiseal stain and sealer to a 6 month old garage floor. Would your HD6500 or HD6600 be an appropriate top coat for this application?

Thanks for all of your help and input.

The outer slab is a usual suspect for spalling as it's the last part of the pour, can be weak if they were running lean.

Grind it smooth and densify it.

If you want good looks consider our One Step Overlay. Very easy to make concrete look new again. Easier than Ardex or similar products.

What year is your Vette?

Thanks for your help Scotty. The vette is a 2001. I'll contact you soon about the densifier.
