Antone have any info about "D.R.P. ang." "Made in Germany" ratchet set? Weird

The socket on the handle and extension doesn't come off. The loose sockets snap into them. Is it complete? How old could it be? Seems H-D!!!
Thanks 4 any help.

D.R.P. means "Deutsches Reichs Patent" ...German Reich Patent.....so it´s from 1945 or older.

Do you mind telling us where you got them? Is there any other markings at all you can find?

I take it that the sockets are rusted on?

I got it a a sale saturday, that 1 socket isn't rusted on but part of the ratcheting mechanism. Note the line of sockets, they got male ends on 'em.

Only markings r what u read in the title. thanks.

So, is there a ratcheting mechanism built into the head that holds the sockets? Is that how it ratchets, or is fixed and more like a breaker bar? I see your wrote "ratchet" in the title.

That definitely is unusual.

Maybe this video will help, i don't explain things very well. thanks 4 looking.

Thank you for the video. That is very neat. I wonder if it was a set that came with a vehicle or tank or something like that for the military, maybe came home with a GI. Strange there is no sizing listed on them?

It does seem over complicated but sure is unique

Correct, No sizing on sockets, guess you'd have to visually memorize the sizes.

I got a similar set but no real info on it either. Plus mine came in a wooden box.

I also have this marking on mine.

My set has :Spezial Werkzeugfabric Feuerbach as the manufacturers. Some of the label is hard to read but that is what it looks like. It also says Stuttgart. I don't think a photo of the label would show up.

Some info about "ang" marked on my ratchet, from german bladesmith article.

"DRP, D.R.P. and D.R.Pa.
are all German—Deutsches Reichs-Patente—representing the highest category of
protection a design could be granted. Care should be taken to distinguish ‘D.R.Pa.’
and ‘D.R.P.A.’, as the latter, more commonly ‘D.R.P. Ang.’ or ‘D.R.P. Angem.’, signifies
Deutsches Reichs-Patent Angemeldet (i.e., that the patent had been sought but not
yet granted. ‘D.R.P. Ang.’ marks were customarily used only for a short time, before
being replaced with ‘D.R.P.’, and can provide a useful dating aid."

I have a D.R.G. ANG. file and pick holder. Handle comes apart to store the files and pick. Bought some of my tools from an old European mechanic about 35 years ago, and this was in it. Along with some Belzer tools. Nice.
