I know a lot of you guys like those style rachets but they just look chickenshit to me.

Has anyone seen one of these in person?

I guess everyone has or is coming out with a roto ratchet these days.

I still say there is one factory in Taiwan (soon to be China or India) that cranks these out for many brands.

aw man, i should have bought this one.
I really wanted one of these roto ratchets, so i bought the HF one with the cheesy handle. I agree that there is probably one factory making these. Still, i would rather have this kobalt one with the blue handle.

What??? How come nobody has mentioned that Lowes now carries a roto ratchet?

Can anyone confirm that Kobalt really makes one of these now. I'm a true skeptic I guess because I'm wondering if they didn't put a Kobalt handle on a different brand's ratchet.

I'm really curious about it. I go to Lowes all the time, maybe not as much as Stuey, but I go to several different locations, often. I go just to browse tools and hope to find clearance stuff. I have never seen kobalt rotos.

I haven't been to Lowes very often lately but I still think someone switched handles.

Are there even any soft handled Kobalt ratchets??? All of the ones I've seen are full polish, right?

I think I agree with the theory that someone took an HF ratchet with a Kobalt handle and tried to pull a fast one. I mean, if there was a prototype, it wouldn't end up on ebay, right?

I wouldn't think you'd want a soft handle on a roto. One of the great things about using them is the ability to spin them quickly when running up a nut (and of course when removing) and a soft handle is going to make for a much clunkier chunk of stuff between your fingertips than a smooth high polish.

Actually, the soft grip on the Snap On versions that I have make quick spins much easier. Then again, the Snap On soft grip isn't nearly as big and clunky as that Kobalt.

I have not seen these Kobalt ratchets at Lowes.... then again, most of the Kobalt tools at Lowes are covered with dust (from not being moved), so I may have missed it!

yeah, the only soft grip ratchets I've seen at Lowes are the Task Force brand.

I also prefer having the soft grip when spinning the handle
