Wombat 8 1/2"er, Prentiss No.58 Heavy chipping vise

Found on CL a few miles away. Its sitting next to one of my users Rock Island 577. Anyone know what does this thing weighs? thanks 4 looking.

I have an old Prentiss catalog at home that has that vise listed, and I believe the weight is listed as well. I will check this evening and get back to you. Killer vise!

275 lbs. Yours may be slightly newer since it does not have the "bulb" end on the main screw, but rather a cylindrical end.

A friend of mine has one but it has the swivel base it comes in just about 300 lbs I offered $3,00 bucks a pound its been sitting on his garage floor for 30 years and he has not used yet So I think he should give it to me and let me make a huge base and use it until then I will just keep using my little Prentiss no 22 that is only 165 lbs lol
