Thanks for the heads up. A little bit of an impulse buy for me but they will be a nice upgrade to the cheap junk I have in my track side toolbox for the track car.

Just an FYI, but those SK pliers are made by Western Forge and are basically the same pliers as the Craftsman ones but different color handles.

How do you come to that conclusion? Have you used them or is it a fair assumption since Ideal now owns western forge and SK?

I have seen the newer SK sets in person, they are the same as a given tool as the Craftsman branded ones are. Not a Scooby Doo Mystery to figure out if Ideal owns both WF and SK, they would cross brand tools.

That said, the Western Forge pliers regardless if they SK or Craftsman, are decent. I just would not put a premium on seeking out the SK just because of the name when it is the same as the Craftsman pliers. Besides, the Craftsman warranty is better than the SK one.

Makes sense. I Guess in that situation it would be like buying Knipex off the Matco truck for 2-3x the price.

I've seen them and current SK pliers are Western Forge made just like the Craftsman versions but, with green grips. I don't think they're anything to get excited over when you can get Knipex or Channellocks.

I also don't care for the SK clones of the Craftsman Pro screwdrivers but with green/black instead of red/black handles.

Also the current Green SK suregrip line of screwdrivers aren't anything to write home about either. The handles are pry bar handles, are too large for the blades, and lack any taper for comfort or spinning ease. Just my observations though,

Bummer they aren't super amazing but at $36 shipped the are the same price as the Craftsman set from Sears.

I like green over black and I'd rather support SK/Ideal/Western Forge and being made in the USA vs supporting Sears/Craftsman and their plans to outsource everything overseas.
