Been thinking of doing this for a while. Here goes. Not much detail early on as most pics where taken with disposable 35mm camera's. technically this is where it all began. Was living in my mothers house, single saving for my own garage with a house attched. Bought my first set of craftsmans and craftsman tool box when playing in this place.

First garage that was all mine. Toy and tool collection grew many fold. If i had a tenth of the time back i spent in this garage. Pretty sparse was more into getting the eork done than working in comfort. No heat, stud walls. Work bench spanned the lenght of the garage on one side. No pic of the. Was stout built of dimension lumber and lots of deck screws.

Pic from inside the white garage. Pretty primitive.

Rigpig, thanks for the compliment on the bike. Was my second true love, lol. I sold it to upgrade, no regrets. I pretty much built it a few times over, labor of love. I know i can build another one any time i desire. Although it is the one and only pic of any of my toys i have had hanging in my garage. Right above my tool box. Any one can own a harley, shovelheads are for harley enthusiasts sp? Shovelhead = wrench.

Round 2006 bought a 24x26 garage with house attached. It has been through several stages that i thought would be the last. Was unfinished when moved in. First thing that happened was build the work benches. This was before i was aware of gj and had just got a screaming deal on am smallish makitw miter saw so cut anything i could at an angle. I was pretty proud of the out ome but no enough so to take any pics of the finished product specifically. But u can see thwn in the background of these pics. I insulated and rocked just behind where i built the work benches so i would not have to rock around then or tear them away from the wall when i finished the rest of the garage. Looking at the pic. The work bench u can see is the left side. Is built in to the corner of the garage

This pic is the right corner and right side of the work bench. All 2x6 and 2x4 top cut at 45 degree angles, remember the miter saw, lol. Lagged to the wall and lagged together where i made sense and a few pounds of deck screws. And of course "big red" torn down. I took it apart strapped on the trailer bc i needed to haul it to get the frame welded. Worked well.

Last one of the old set up. A little better view, and of course "big red" again.

I was quite happy with the wooden work benches. But soon after finishing them I got tired of everything sitting on the shelves forever getting/being covered in saw dust, grinding dust, drill filings, you name it. So started looking for "metal cabinets" i knew exactly what i was looking for and knew i had to be patient.... And then hit motherload. These babies followed me home one day. Very well the best purchase i have made in my life.

Bought all ten of these metal cabinets. Roller slides. Spot welded. Threaded levelers in each corner on each cabinet, five sided corner unit that made for a perfect fit in my garage. When i left my house i had planned on buying 2-3 of these. Remember i had plenty of wood workbenches i was more than happy with. But you never know so in preparation of deal of all deals, i took the passenger seat out of my car just in case as i was driving 50 miles or so one way. In the pic of ghem on the trailer there is a cabinet in the passenger side of my car. Best part of while deal... I paid $175.00 for all ten of them : )

On the ride home i had plenty of time to think about my new score, not just bc it was an hour on a good day. It was windy as hell, could not take the interstate, and could hardly get the old accord past third gear on the flats. Made it not problem, who needs a truck when u drive honda's : ). Well by the time was home had decided i would scrap the wood benches i currently had and salvage most of it to be used as supports and the top of the cabinets i had just bought. I had also decided i would paint all of them to match my craftsman top box. In the end it turned but would have been way easier to paint the craftsman to match the cabinets. They were a couple of different models but very close and 3 or 4 different colors, all kind of bland earth tones. They all came out of a science labs at a university. I wish i had more pics of the process of leveling, sanding, painting a d building the tops bc it was a process. All told it took about a month every chance i had to get it all done from tear out to finished. I even polished all of the hinges and pulls in the drawers. I doubt i would ever do it again. Who knew i would have to tune all of the doors on the cabinets when the went back together. I did have the good sense to number and letter each cabinet and all of the doors and drawers so they stayed with the right frame. Would have been s nightmare had i not done this. Four of them have four drawers ( two deep, two across on top and then dutch doors below. I would still be trying to figure out which ones went with which frame. Ok, two coats of primer with wet sand between costs and three costs of paint later. Here they are. Have been in servixe for over three years.

It is an old moto ski. 1972 zypher 440. My dad bought one new in 1971, first sled i ever rode. Its in great shape and takes me right back. I put lots of miles on a 2003 rx1 every year. But it is fun to take the moto ski out for a ride when i get the chance. Thanks for feedback. I get lots of compliments on it, but some have no idea how much work went into it. I am still growing the tool/machine inventory and working to get keep things organized. I wish i would have known of garage journal before the last remodel. I would have done some things differently. So like alotof others i am already planning the next phase. Heres a little better shot of the moto ski and some of the rest of the fleet, lol
