Hi everyone.

I have been a lurker for a while, reading through threads here before buying anything. Great site!
Thanks to that orange snap-on thread, I've been bitten by the bug and have started collecting orange snap-on tools.

Anyways I have been itching to buy a Milwaukee 2763-22 M18 Fuel 1/2 impact and I found this site: http://www.jccayer.com/

I have been checking out their website for a bit more than a month now, it has been on pre-order status. I finally emailed Milwaukee and was informed they are available for purchase through a distributor.

Here is the response I got when I forwarded that info to JCCAYER:

"
Hi,

It doesn't matter what they say, sadly for you, the information I give you is the accurate information. Please contact Milwaukee for them to ship you one if they are that good.

Do not email us further on this concern, if you contact us to later contact them, then it's a waste a time for us to answer you.

Thank You,

Sylvain Cayer
Internet Sales and Marketing Manager

www.JCCayer.com

"

I have not yet bothered to reply to that email. Needless to say, I will not purchase anything from them.

A question for you Canadians: where can I buy the new Milwaukee M18 Fuel 1/2 and 3/8 impact?

Thanks for reading.

I'm a d-bag (but I'm honest). Unfortunately, there are a lot of people like me in the world. Try amazon or ebay.

Oh french canadians...big bark little bite.

There was another thread around with a similar rude reply from this guy. Sounds like a real douche.

The tone was dickish, but it sounds like he didn't want your business to start with and still doesn't want it, his loss.

I guess all the e-mails to the owner of the company that people sent after the last rude reply we saw posted on here did a lot to get this charming fellow to change his ways....

I say we start pestering them with stupid questions all the time.

Dear Sirs;

I would like to order some tools. Can you please tell me what you have available?

Thank you.

The first one was not nearly as bad as this one. This one was just out of line especially for a "manager". I guess having the same last name as the the company name lets you talk to would be customers this way. These are just 2 examples of this. I wonder how many more there are that we have never heard of.

Not an appropriate business response but seriously, why come on here (first post) to complain about it. Pick up the phone and blast them or return the e-mail and tell them to go screw themselves if they don't want your business.

As for another supplier, are you asking us where to find Milwaukee products in Canada? There are lots of places, some you can probably drive to if you want to, although you didn't say where you're from. If you want a "recommendation" on who we like try Mississauga Hardware. I don't know all of their staff but most of them aren't dicks.

Great idea.

Any techie here on GJ wanting to build a DDoS scheme to pump out a "few" of these per day ??? :D

Seriously, looks like main product line is DeWalt so OP's attempt to get Milwaukee is like . .
. . . Trying to get an Apple from a Lemon tree !! ;) . . ;)

Best attempt at "helping JCC" is emailing the guy back that you would appreciate a timetable for ANY expected fulfillment of your "pre-order" of Milwaukee products. If it's expected to take several months, then JCC should have told you that up front.

I know it's strange for a first post. I cannot talk over the phone otherwise I would love to talk to the owner. I thought the email was ridiculous enough to warrant this post. Interesting approach from a "Internet sales and marketing manager".
I asked for a recommendation because local stores do not have it, and figured buying online would save me some $ anyway. so far I have found bcfasteners and jccayer.

Thanks.

call them up and act similar to Richard and Sal's tradio prank calls on Howard Stern.

I'm calling about buying a tool. Do you guys have tools? Yeah. The tool! I need to buy a tool.

Sorry, I’m just not feeling it. Let’s look at what we have before we get the lynch mob out.

1. I’m not accusing anyone but, the original poster is not a long time poster it was his first post. That doesn’t automatically make him a plant from another company to make these guys look bad but it should raise a flag.

2. If you look at the e-mail response it looks like the op first contacted the retailer to see if something was available. After being told it wasn’t he then contacted the manufacturer thus going over the retailers head. If the part was available through the retailer’s channels don’t you think they would try to sell it?

3. Don’t believe everything you read, yesterday it just came out that the lesbian that showed the receipt where a customer wrote nasty stuff on it was faked. It would have been very easy to edit the e-mail he received to say anything.

He may be being completely honest and the guy may be a **** but I like to have a little more evidence. Ready, Fire, Aim!

Don't listen to this guy. This is EXACTLY the type of information that should be posted here.

LOL at Sylvain, famous on the internet for being a complete ***** for no reason.

My first thought was how much time the OP consumed of the company. I own a business and waste a lot of time answering questions of folks who I will never make a dime off of. If and please note the IF,,,,,,,,,,,,,,the OP sent many emails and asks a bunch of questions, then perhaps that response was warranted. BUT, it the OP was just browsing the site and sent an email or 2, then the guy at the company is a ****.

As a business owner, I can't waste a lot of time on tire kickers and wannabes, especially if I am working on a short margin like most internet folks do. My main business focus is to businesses who spend money repeatedly with me over time. So that is where my time is spent. Perhaps the company the OP is complaining about has that focus as well.

All speculation on my part.

The op is dead on about jc cayer in one aspect anyway. i have been waiting to buy a 2781-22 grinder from them that has been one preorder status for at least 6 weeks now. I know it can be purchased from other suppliers right away but i am in no real hurry and jc cayer posts the best price around. I phoned them 3 times now ( about every 2 weeks) and they give the same response, ANY DAY NOW. IF i preorder the will card my credit card right away they tell me so why preorder it. IMO they either have a lot of old stock they're trying to dump first or major cash flow issues. I'm going to phone them now and if it's not in yet they just lost a repeat customer. Enough is enough.

UPDATE just got off the line with them. " We are expecting a large order from Milwaukee in the next week or so". I asked if they had any of the grinder packages on that order and was told she didn't know and would have to wait for the order to arrive to find out. She sure wanted for me to preorder though. No set delivery date, but give us your money WTH.

So, ignore them, or politely tell them that you're not interested in doing business with them.

Or, be an unprofessional ****, and get your dickery posted on the Internet for all to see and avoid doing business with you.

It does amuse me that supposed business people claim that they don't have time to deal with someone that isn't immediately ponying up the cash.

Exactly how do you cultivate a customer that gives you repeat business, anyhow?

You're not?

Not accusing is much different from being skeptical. At this time I don’t have a track record with either the op or the retailer. I'm not accusing him just like I'm not jumping off the handle to lynch someone. Being skeptical is far different from attacking either partie’ reputation. Someone you never met could tell you that I was obnoxious which I very well may be but it would be unfair to judge me or the person who told you about me until you had more information or you knew one of us better.

Who comes on as their first post? Anyone concerned that a tool guy would spend money with douchey people like this....I, for one, didn't take the first example with a grain of salt because it could have been a fluke. This second happening let's me know that I should never, ever buy a product from them, and I'm glad the person joined to let us know what was going on. If you think their response is bad before you buy a tool, what do you think it will be when you have a problem with one you purchased?

Better yet, anyone who puts the words "cayer rude" into Google to find the original thread, and decides to join to relate that they had a similar experience.

It boggles my mind that some folks here would call out a new poster for describing a negative tool-related shopping experience, regardless of it being their first post.

Certainly, had they made a first post about a positive experience with one of the darling brands, they'd not receive such an atrocious welcoming.

I can see X1 Mike and fatfillup's points of view on this. Nothing wrong with a bit of scepticism which is what I had right off the get go here. I hadn't seen the earlier post relating to this same vendor or at least hadn't remembered it. From the email that was posted it was plain to see there had been earlier dialog. I refuse to crusade against something based on one email snipped from an entire thread of dialog between 2 people. If you're going to post emails, post the entire thread so we can see how things escalated to what they have become now.

This thread will likely be closed like the other anti JCCAYER thread was. This is the internet. Take what ever you want from the opinions given with regard to a company's service. Personally, I wouldn't make my decisions based on a few negative comments but at the first sign of being screwed around by a company I would simply write them off and move on.

Is that the contents of the e-mail you sent Mr. Cayer?

Been in business 25 years and have made a good living and hope to retire a bit early so I would say I have been somewhat successful. I jump through hoops to satisfy my good customers. Early in my career, actually up until last 5 years or so, I tried to satisfy everyone. Guess what, I wasted a lot of time and money and with only so much time in a day, neglected some good customers to a degree trying to help someone who never bought from me.

Now as to how to cultivate a customer that gives you repeat business. That's easy. You prospect for the type of customers you want, you call on them, you set up demos, and give good service. When I was building the business, I would try to target customers whom I knew spent a lot of money annually on what I sell. They are the ones who you make real money off of. Now, I am not in a retail business for my main business, so I can't comment on retail, dealing with John Q. Public and lots of them. That's not my bailiwick. My point was time wasters (and I don't know if the OP was one) need to be shown the door. Don't need to be rude, I agree.

You made a statement about "supposed businessmen". Well there are also supposed customers.
