Wiss 3pc Aviation Snips $20ish (possible $14.97, YMMV)at Lowe's

Lowe's has the Wiss 3pc Aviation snip set on sale for $19.99. Mine will take harbor freight coupons, so I used a 25% off coupon and got it for $14.97 out the door. Not sure how long they're on sale for, or if the price varies from store to store.

That's a good deal. But damn it...not gonna drive farther than my local Lowe's, and they are out of stock. Also, they don't honor other store coupons :(

Bought the set about a week ago for $19.97 - great price (even better at $15) since, individually, they're about $45 at regular price.

Here's why you need all three...

(*sorry for the Enzo see post #7 above)

They're not $14.97. They $19.97. You just have the only Lowe's in the world that'll take the Harbor Freight coupon. Lucky you.

But, yeah...Lowe's has been bumping them down to $20 on occasion for like two years. I think this time has been on for a couple of months. There was a thread here not too long ago about it.

Well now I know your name and home address. You won't be expecting the pizza delivery guy, but he will definitely be expecting cash.

Thanks, picked up the set. That video makes so much sense now, I've never knew there were 3 types and always struggled with getting the correct side to not bend!

Unless you spend $50 on a pair of Malco's, Wiss is pretty much the standard in construction. I carried their snips and sheet metal breaks for years as a roofer. Wasn't going to invest the money for Malco's that some other guy was going to borrow to cut a framing nail. Unless you're doing a lot of finish work with them, you won't know the difference anyway.

That's because of availability at big box retailers (I'm sure home depot carries this brand as well as lowe's). I have stuff from a company called midwest (sears used to carry them, not sure if they still do) and they're much beefier. I picked a bunch of their stuff on clearance for between 5 and 7 bucks. Great stuff.

The modern wiss stuff (at least with the general purpose snips) loses it's bite if you use them on heavier materials. You can hone them (on one side similar to scissors) but still. However, the steel on this wiss set is probably much better than on the snips I have from them. But you should always check out other stuff before going all in with a set.

They aren't 14.97 here, HOWEVER, I just picked up a set for 19 and change. I included this 10% coupon...

It wiped out the tax ($1.97) and took a little bit off the total. I paid $19.20. Not the best deal in the world but it helps.

They aren't $14.97 at any store, not even the store the original poster bought from. It's probably the worst and most misleading thread title in the hot deals forum; if one of us talks a store manager into giving a discount he shouldn't give, it's a waste of everyone else's time to post it here because it's a deal no one else can get.

Yeah, the shears are twenty bucks and have been for awhile, which IS a fantastic deal; that's why we already have a thread with the correct price in the title.
