I've jammed up a long 3/8 once and it was replaced under warranty. Replaced the 1/2 flexhead 3 times now due to jamming. I have the short 3/8 flexhead and no issues at all. They must not like a lot of leverage.

Personally I like the 60 tooth models over the 90 tooth models. I ordered the 90 tooth 1/4 drive the day those came out. Broke it the first time I used it. It never was smooth and it just feels sloppy. I picked up a 60 tooth 1/4 inch drive at a flea market still in the wrapper cheap and I really like it. It ratchets real nice and I haven't had any issue with it. I also have a 60 tooth 3/8 ratchet that came with a socket set and its really smooth also. I like everything else carlyle I have but I think the 90 tooth ratchets are a weak spot.

I've got one of the 60t quick release models as a warranty for the older Napa version.I use the heck out of it with no issues either. It is a nice little ratchet.

I bought the 60 tooth sealed head ones. I quite like them, grab them rather often.

I do wish that they would have released the 90 tooth stuff without those obnoxious "comfort grips" on them, I quite despise those.

phantom - i have that same ratchet. The first one lasted right at a year and I got pretty aggressive with it about 2 months ago and broke the guts out of it. Called my son and had him come by the shop, run it up to NAPA and exchange it. He was back with a new one in less than 15 minutes.

I like the comfort grip, the 90 tooth count, and the length is perfect. When it come to 3/8" drive deep sockets, that is my go to ratchet 95 percent of the time. I hate using shallow or standard sockets on it because there is no release button on it and its nearly impossible to get the short sockets off especially if your hands are the least bit greasy. I have had to take a flat blade screwdriver and wedge under them to get them off and honestly thats my only complaint with the ratchet.

I have three Carlyle ratchets. A stubby 1/4 drive, a 1/4 flex head, and a 9 inch or so 3/8 drive flex head. All with 90 teeth and the blue/yellow comfort grip handle. I really like them. I probably reach for them first for most tasks.
I like the 90 tooth action. I haven't had any problems with any of them and they've more than paid for themselves.

thats the only thing I own at the time. I was in the market for a extended length fine tooth and it fit the bill. Im real good friends with the Napa parts guy and got a great great deal. I could probably outfit my box with the Carlyle stuff for a lot less than sticker price. Just have a hard time spending money to replace good tools.

Have a cousin that has a set of Std. wrenches that go up to 1 1/2 with the grooves cut in the open end part of the wrench. I cant remember what the trade name of that style of wrench is, but he really likes them.

I have a set of the long, full-polish metric wrenches. So far, they've been really good.

+1 on the carlyle wrenches mentioned above those are their longer non slip wrenches. I have a metric set and really like them. also have some carlyle sockets. Would like to try the ratchets soon, so the cheaper ratchet is the 60 tooth?
