Don't forget to check out the HF 56" and new 72" while you're at it...

I've got a 56", and I love it!!!

The 72" is on sale for $ 999.00...that setup you're thinking about, is more than that, and the drawers are 4" deeper on both the 56" and the 72"...

A 56" roller cabinet and the top box would be in the ballpark price wise, too...

Something to think about...

Ya I thought bout the 56" but I just don't have the room for it right now.... But sure might do it later when I rebuild my crappy little home shop and make it bigger....

DAMN dude now that's what's up bro....
How you liking these boxes?
Have any issues with them at all or any bad comments bout them?
:eyecrazy:
:scared:
:rocker:

I'm still moving into them. But quality/price wise I have no complaints. I was planning to do buy it in stages. But when I started filling up the first set I didn't have enough wide drawers. It would be nice to have a full width shallow drawer and maybe some deeper drawers in the side cab... But I made up for that by adding on to the train http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/images/smilies/lol2.gif

The bottom, side cab and side locker will be ~80" wide and with the top cost ~$1k at sale prices..... The drawers are really narrow front to back. You won't regret picking up the larger box or looking in your local classifieds for a deal on a used truck brand box.

The "show us your tool box" thread will have lots of pictures for you to look at:

Picked one up New Year's Day. Top, bottom and two short side boxes. Great boxes and higher quality than I expected for the money.
Almost filled up already and thinking about another to build in to my work bench.

Like others have said, do a search, this is easily the most talked about subject on GJ.

I considered buying two HF 44" botoom boxes to use back to back as a work bench island. I would have pulled the trigger if I didn't luck into a couple Snap-on boxes and a Kennedy roller cabinet around the same time. If (er, when) my space needs increase, I would consider them again. I have two friends that use them daily in a professional setting and absolutely love them. Compared to all of the stuff at Sears, Home Depot, and Lowe's, that box is certainly the best value out there.

I am extremely ocd about certain things. Tools and storage are one of those things. I have not regretted once buying my 44" roll away. You can't find half the box for twice the price.

Yea I would agree it a great box and I think I am going to buy another one. You can always peel the label off and rebrand it.

My only complaint, the shallow drawers are too shallow. I think 2 less drawers and deepen the shallow drawers or an additional set of deep drawers would make the box more useful. (For me anyway.) I traded and now have 2 rows of deep drawers on mine.

Here's mine. I use it as an overflow box so it has a mix of stuff in it. I put the SO nameplates on. IMO this is the best 44" box out there for the money. It was my primary box till I went to a 56" box. I would like to get a 72" box now because I keep buying more stuff.

Here's the 56" you also referenced. Great box as well. Only complaint is no full length top drawer.

Here's just sockets. No ratchets or extensions except sets. It stuffed all the way down.

Here's one more level down. Big wrenches and pliers. The drawers are deep enough for me. I don't lose any space because I stack stuff. I know this should be in the tool box section, but I want to show you how much the 56" will hold so you can make your decision.

Last one. As you can see there's a lot. The drawers work great. No flex, come straight out, and are very smooth when full. I wouldn't be able to get half this in the 44". Just remember before you buy a box extra space is ok. You will always buy more tools. Again sorry for all the posts.

Ya bro nice box man.... Really like the Snap On logo idea.... Hahahaha too funny

But I'm really looking for some 44" box organization ideas cause I'm really leaning towards the 44" box setup with side box and side locker.

I wish I had pics of when my 44" was my primary box. I had it set up nice, but just ran out of room. If the 44" is the way you are leaning I think you will like it. You have more options for accessories like the top, side, and locker. Whatever you decide post some pics when you get it.

Instead of making a new thread if i read correctly it is possible to remove 2 drawers and add a deep drawer?

Also how much do you think a fair price for one of these lower boxes used? My dad said he would sell me his and he would get the 56. I just dont know a price to offer him. Its been in a heated garage all the time. no nicks or scratches.

Yes you can mix and match same width drawers. One of my 44 lowers now has all shallow drawers. With, of course, the other having the deeps.
