Hell of a sale if you are a Craftsman Club member. Especially for a toolbox.

I have had one of these lowers for years. I love it but I need more space.
Until the 18th you can get this;

http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959624000P?
and
http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_12605_00959623000P?

for half off.

here is the flyer...
http://s7.sears.com/is-viewers/flas...tober_2008_B00&sid=I0084400010000100383&aff=Y

you can buy just one piece if you like I just got the lower and it was $450

I'm still grinning ear to ear as I'll be doing something a lot like this;
http://www.garagejournal.com/forum/showpost.php?p=13197&postcount=79

thank you wolverine for the idea :)

I have always thought that concept was cool and probably allot cheaper then other brands like Lisa; I'm sure the Lista is much nicer to use but for the price, not a bad storage unit!

my thoughts exactly. I'll still keep an eye out for a nice Lista used but for now I have two 40" lowers and one 26" upper that I'm going to either sell or transform into a service cart of sorts. plus i'm just a hobbiest :D

Tried showing it to my wife but it was a no go.

She thinks the 24x30x12 that's almost finished along with our house is my lifetime birthday/christmas/father's day present...

Oh well :)

Talk too much about your "wifes" warranty and she might get you a new box, in pine.

That price for the Gladiator 8' workbench is better than my price. My company provides the steel to Whirlpool/Gladiator and we get unreal deals on all their products. That price is about $40 better and we HAVE to pay for shipping too.

The thing I don't like about those boxes is that they're only 18" deep, and the drawers are significantly shallower. But if it's cheap enough, that isn't much of an argument ;)

What is the circled box? Sears sells that? Or is it modified?

That is a small add on box, that is practically negligible! It also comes in black and blue colors; for the price you could probably find another top box on sale...

damn, seems kind of small for $90. I guess it depends on what you're using it for.

I had a friend who had that. I thought it looked handy and he used it mostly for spare bolts, etc.
I found one at another friends, family members estate sale. It was the reason I bought the set (this box, a top box, and a bottom box). There was a cheapo set (maybe Taskforce) that was prior to this, and people walked away waiting for the other box. Nobody was bidding, so I bid $5 on the Taskforce to get it over with (got it) and then the bidding went between me and one other person that stuck around. The Craftsman set went for $35, then about 5 minutes later, people came back asking about it. I bought the set for that box, and could have sold just that box for my bid, LOL.

Now I would like a larger box, but have no GOOD place for it. I keep my tools in my basement and learned a LONG time ago, I need to keep everything so that I alone can move it. This has been a major pain, but the ONE time I moved (about 16 years ago), I couldn't get help.

I'm impressed everytime I see the photos of your boxes. That just looks really clean. Great job...

yes that is the combo... I dunno why it wont work online. I went to the store. They rang up the lower box and it was $600 something. Swiped my c'man club card and it went down $200. Can't you just go get it at the store?

Any idea how I can order this online? I entered my craftsman club # in my sears.com profile and added the combo to my cart, and it still shows the higher columbus day sale price of $881.98. I want the craftsman club price, damn it!

This is the combo in the flyer right?

No, that's NOT the combo. Clicking on the links in the 1st post bring up the correct products

It appears to be the same combo, but it's most certainly not. Here's the hint... the sale combo is ball bearing, the one nextdoorhobo linked to is Quiet Glide. =P

So you bought the combo, right? Where are your photos? =) Ok, ok, set it all up and then show us some eye candy - I'm tired of seeing all those Snap-On combos that cost more than a decent 1 carat diamond!

Thanks Stuey, I added them individually through your links and now I can see the discount. FYI, the $25 off $250 visa promo doesn't seem to stack with this deal; still a pretty sweet deal.

I live in manhattan so I planned to buy it online and have it shipped to my dad in the 'burbs as a gift. Now that I think about it, it's probably better to pick it up in person and inspect it on site... I'm reading the other thread about craftsman chests getting banged up during delivery :(. I'll order it now and go pick it up next weekend when I visit my folks (I hope sears lets delay pick up like that)...

cheers

Opps my bad... It's too early on monday still.
I should have read my own thread LOL

It won't be setup for a while as you still can't even walk in my shop.
But I promise to post pics soon and you can see progress here.

those snap-on setups are nice but I'm realistic. This is just a hobby for me...

I went to Sears to buy mine but they we're out of stock so I had to order one, it will be in on the 20th, I can't wait. If this wasn't on sale I probably would not have been able to get a set like this for a while.

I've had that box for years and I got another. I love it. It might not be a snap-on but it's nice and smooth. Even the lower left drawer with all my air tools works without a hitch.

My sears told me the 50% offer only applied if you bought the combo, and only in black.

It sounds like some of you have been able to buy the lower by itself?

I wanted to buy just the lower in red...guess I'm out of luck.

I rung just the bottom up today at the register; with the addition of the craftsman club discount, it comes up at 50% off just fine..... hope this helps! :)
