I've caught vise fever and am looking to pick up my second Rock Island. A Rock Island 574 that appears to be in decent shape and should clean up well. What's a fair asking price?

I bought a Rock Island 597 fixed base recently and I love it. It would be great to add a swivel model to the collection especially one fairly large. Here is the 597 behemoth.

looks like it is in great shape except for being a little rusty. I own a few Rock Island vises and love them, but not sure what the specs are on the one you are looking at. do you know the specs or what Dayid's list says for it?

it looks like a 4 inch jaw width and maybe a 40-60 pound vise without looking at Dayid's. it has the swivel and in good shape so I wouldn't feel too bad paying $100 or in that range for it.

good luck with that vise vice.

I believe it has 4.5" jaws and weighs somewhere in the 60 lb neighborhood.

it would be a nice friend for your other bigger Rock Island in your garage and you'll have to build that bench over your nice tool box for them.

those don't come up very often around here or that often anywhere for $50 so unless he is asking $250 i'd say go over with $80 and see if he takes it. I would go as high at $120-$150 if I really wanted it and $75 in case I was buying for resale later.

good luck

I almost posted something I shouldn't have said. I read your post wrong. I though you said Goog Bye. Sorry if it got through and any one saw it. Reminds me of measure twice cut once.
