I mounted the Task Force brand hose reel from Lowes on the ceiling. Similar to the HF brand.
The mounting base has two slotted/open bolt holes and two thru drilled holes for 4 point mounting.
I had put 2x10 solid blocking in my ceiling prior to drywall. Holes were marked and pilots drilled.
For the slotted/open holes, I used lag bolts and washers and put them in place leaving about 1/4" gap between the washer and the ceiling. For one of the thru holes, I used a lag bolt with a threaded end with washer and nut. This method allowed me to quickly heave-ho the real up to the ceiling, slide the slotted holes in place, and then spin a nut with washer on the stud to hold the real in place. I then put a normal lag in the last thru hole and then tightened all down.
With a 12' ceiling and by myself, this was the best method for me. Hope this helps you.
