Hey all.

Sorry for being AWOL. Been very busy working on the re-design and have been living out of a suitcase a lot lately.

Here's what’s going on with the new QuickJack and why the shipping delays.

New BL-5000 model is being introduced. (Will be added to website next week.)
o Larger tubing
o Longer frame
o Larger cylinder
o Even though frame is slightly larger, 3” lowered height is still maintained

Upcoming model revisions (feedback from users) for both the BL-3500 and BL-5000 are shown below. (We had to file a second patent design/utility application for the revised design.)

o Adding mid-level safety lock position
o Adding breather screw to both cylinders
o Adding wheels (like suitcase rollers)
o Spaced the rubber block pockets more evenly

Pricing:
BL-3500 Complete Package $995.00 Free Shipping / Direct Points – 48-States
BL-5000 Complete Package $1295.00 Free Shipping / Direct Points – 48-States

Although we are able to produce the lift units fairly quick, the power unit company has caused us a more-than-expected delayed due to the mini 110-volt hydraulic power unit which seems to be the unit preferred by most buyers. Mini DC power units are not that uncommon but sourcing a 110-volt mini motor for a mini hydraulic power unit has proved to be a challenge.

We are expecting to resume shipping soon. We do have some older original units in stock – units without the four revisions shown below. These units will most likely be able to ship within two more weeks (when power units arrive). The revised-updated models will not be available for shipment until mid-May.

We are sorry for the delay in getting this product to market but the response for this product has been greater than expected.

Jeff

You guys continue to miss the mark with regards to the width between the jack points. The distance between the factory jack points on my Porsche 997 is 53", so your 50.5" does not cut it. I have not checked on my 2 race cars yet (996 and a 355 Challenge) but I suspect you are going to come up short.

This is the perfect application for track side maintenance but you are excluding one of the most commonly raced cars on the planet owned by a demographic who would buy these in a heart beat.

What cars did you test this 50.5" against? Who is your target market?

Our engineers make us keep beam spans as short as possible when dealing with higher loads (safety factors) but I see no reason why we could not possibly make a 4000-pound model slightly longer.

Thanks. Will look into it.

Is there a motorcycle attachment in the works or already in production? If so what is the price on that. Would be a great setup for my 1 car garage.

4000 would be plenty! Even the 3500 is just fine. The issue was never about weight, its about the span of the beams. If you check through the other threads about this topic there are several of us who all commented on the same thing.

I really don't think people are going to use this product to lift their truck, think sports cars and race cars. Make one than can lift a 911 and you'll have nearly every PCA racer falling over themselves to get one.

Given my garage situations, I'm really interested in this product. As with others some of my vehicles are in the 3600-3800 lb range so the 5000 version is more appealing, but the factory jack points are about 53 inches apart. A 4000lb version with a wider deck would be great.

Interesting that the car used in the new video is a Jaguar F type convertible, which even with the smallest engine is listed on Jags website as weighing 3,521, so it's over the weight limit for the lift.

Thanks for posting the dimensions. I like the size and packaging, if it goes up enough to service/drop a trans out of the race cars I might be interested. It'd be either something like this or a 4 post even though I only have 8' to work with. With frame connectors on our hot rods, the length isn't a big concern for me. I can see the Porsche issue - I'd just throw a couple of 6' 4x4s in the truck to lay on the lift but that's just me. But I also I get the "less you have to carry" thing too.

In my situation my lowered car would barely fit the lift never mind an extension. Have to lift the car some how to use this would make it much less appealing for me. Either way great work guys and love the pricing. I have to measure my car and see how far apart the lift points are, seems to be the weak link on these.

You've been awol for like 7 years....

Last post in the other thread was about 3 months ago. Don't be such a *****. A manufacturer has a million different enthusiast forums to choose from, getting a representative to join this particular forum to field questions demonstrates a high level of customer service and dedication. I'm sure JSK's official title is not "Online forum specialist/rumor crusher"

I have a C6 Corvette that has a claimed weight of around 3250, I'll measure my jacking point distance tonight. I believe there was already a group buy started over at CorvetteForum.

Are there instructions available online? Which way does the 'QUICKJACK' white label go - toward the front of the car or the back? In the two Bendpak videos on Youtube they alternate directions.

You's think that you'd want the car to move backward so that more of the weight (engine) is brought closer to the base of the jacks, but the videos show both ways...

I'm trying to figure out if the BL-5000 will fit under my Miata.

I think that 7year comment was meant to be funny...

Though, calling someone a ***** in a first post isn't exactly a good way to start...

Yeah I know he was just busting the vendor's balls, I'm sure TAMPAG won't lose any sleep because I said he was being a *****. I still think we should be nicer to a representative of an American company that has come to this small forum of enthusiasts to provide direct information and answer questions. :headshake

C6 is 36" between jacking points. It's about 4" tall at those points however. If I wanted to use some of the taller rubber blocks I think I'd have to drive up on 2x10s first. However, just to get the wheels off and change between race and street pads, or to change tires, I don't want the wheels up too high. Makes it harder to get them on the lugs unless it's all the way up at chest height IMO. :dunno:

For my mechanical skill level, this is the perfect height. The key things I want to do are change wheels, brake pads, flush brakes, change oil, and have access to the axle back exhaust. From a limited storage space and something I wouldn't use weekly, the portability is a major positive. It just needs to be able to reach the stock jack points that are in the 53 inch range on my BMW's.

Awesome!!! Thanks so much for updating :) Been waiting for this for a while. I'm very eager to get the BL-5000 myself.

JSK - Canadian pricing and source? :)

Just measured on my mazdaspeed 3...the BL-5000 fits no problem between the wheels. The jack points are going to be damn close to maxing this thing out though unless I went to the front and mid point rather than front and rear points. It might work front/rear but I wouldn't be centered on the jack points. You guys might be missing the mark in terms of span of the jack points here on both models. If my MS3 barely fits, my Rav4 (which is out in the snow and I don't feel like freezing right now) might not be possible.

If you guys want detailed measurements from my car, let me know what dimensions you need, I'm more than happy to provide info to help this product achieve what it really needs to.

As others have said, capacity is not the issue, length is. I need 55 inches. Would buy today if the length was available.

This product is a great idea....unfortunately myself along with obviously many others are quite confused about the odd choice for the length of this jack. I'm strictly a hobbyist. I don't own a Miata race car. I just wanted something portable that like many others on here just want something to pick their car up to do brake pads, oil changes, tire swaps, etc. The MaxJax was a good idea and was considering it until I read about drilling concrete and installing anchors. Not for me. Being able to just set this thing up, pick the car up, do what you have to do, and then drag it over into a corner of my garage would be the ultimate product for someone like me. QuickJack you guys have a real market here. People are waiting for this thing to be finalized into something that makes sense. Any input JSK??

I work on 5 different vehicles for family members and would buy one today if the length was 55. The weight rating is not a big issue since most are midsize cars. Can you update us on this?

length is definitely an issue... and anything over 4000lbs is welcome. My wagon weights 3500lbs and factory jack points are 59 inches apart...

I just ordered my BL-3500. I have a 94 Mustang GT, track modified, with sub-frames & jacking rails, so I am not worried about jacking point spacing. Stock, the car is ~3300 lbs. It has been significantly lightened, so weight should not be an issue either.

I was told it would be ~4-6 weeks before delivery.

Will post something whenever mine gets delivered.

Good day gentlemen. I have come across this product via a USA contributor to the Westfield Sports Car Club forum here in Britain. The maker says on the website that exports are currently not offered but I am sufficiently interested in it to want to try to persuade them to send me one.

The only thing that really worries me about the QuickJack is lateral stability - i.e. side to side safety. A couple of contributors asked about a garage floor with a shallow vee shaped camber for drainage and how this might prejudice safety but nobody replied. Perhaps the manufacturer's representative has information on lateral stability and can let us know? It looks like a great product and I really hope I can get one for my cars (BMW Z3, BMW Z4M Coupé, Jaguar X-type, and Westfield SEiW). My Westfield on a track day sighting lap below:

I did some measuring and the 5000 is the only thing with enough height to allow me to pull a trans. The problem there is working under the car with the jacks blocking side access. IMHO that would become a problem real quick. Same for placing headers and misc - I'd have to come in from under the front, with the parts and exit the same. Hadn't thought about it, but our drag race situation is different that "track guys" - I don't mess with the car at the track, outside of anything I can do with a small floor jack and jack stands. In the shop, if I'm raising it up like that it's serious and the trans/motor/rear is coming out. My 3 ton jack stands raise the car using the subframe connectors to a height that is just about 3" short of what the 5000 would do, and they don't block side access. So, I think this solution isn't something that would work for me personally. For that $$$$, I think I'd get more use out of a 4 post that I could only raise 24~30"

I would love to see a video of it lifting a SUV or pickup under 5000lbs, then I could determine if this is for me

My F150 SuperCrew weighs 5600 and that unit would maybe/maybe not lift it far enough for the tires to clear the floor.

I think this would be a good unit for small cars, just to lift it to a comfortable working height.

Yesterday was on knees changing the thermostat on my sisters car. I hate hunching over.

JSK, how about this as an idea to extend the length of the platform. Maybe create a accessory plate sleeve that the user can slide into the top bar to extend the platform. The metal sleeve wraps around the top bar and can slide back and forth when needed. So at 50.5 inch standard length and if the user needed another 6 inch for a 56 inch platform, have 3 inch extended up front and 3 inch in the rear.

Wow. . .I was hoping to get this, but at 50.5" for the jack point width that won't work on my BRZ. I just measured it and it's at about 60" from center to center jack point. Very disappointing.

There's really no way to get to the jack points on a lift that doesn't go straight up and has any more that a measly few inches of lift. The jack points (for the included spare tire jack) are as far forward and aft as you can get, so anything that 'tilts' up can't hit those points and still get height.

It's really not that big of a deal. The seam isn't going to bend over on you. If you were jacking the car up with a regular jack to put a jackstand under the car, you wouldn't be jacking the car up from the jackpoint (because that's where you want to put a jack stand).

When I jack the car up to put on jack stands, I use the center jack points on the car. There's a jack plate on the front subframe and the rear diff is used as the rear jack point.

I'd rather not risk using a product that was not designed to hit the jack points on the car because those points were picked to maintain balance of the car while in the air. I was looking at this product as it seemed great for a home use and easily stored. I was hoping the Quickjack would fit that bill, but it looks like I'm back to a MaxJaxx or Kwiklift 7000 for my purposes.

I also have center jacking point in front and rear. You should be careful with the rear diff... I don't know about the brz, but from what I have read they never recommended the using the rear diff.

I don't think a few inches will make a big difference with the balance of the car. You just need to center it yourself. Most cars will have a rail running along the side jacking points. But my problem is that the whole rail is covered by the side skirt. Only the jacking points are exposed.

That said... Low risers like the LR-60 are only 53“ long which is surprising... That would barely work with my saab.

I think it's a design compromise. Given that the quick jack uses a parallelogram to lift the car... It is much longer when fully collapsed. So if we wanted a 60" long lifting platform at the current height. The whole thing would measure 80" long. And that would make it less portable, which is what the quick jack is all about. At 70" inches it barely fits my car to carry it around. What should be changed is the whole lifting design if you want to keep it compact when collapsed. Like a scissor design or something.
