Long time lurker, and poster of the forum, but finally bought a house about a month ago after complications of closing due to copper being swiped. Basically found the ideal house me and my Fiance wanted, with plenty of space to grow in, a huge backyard with a big deck, fire pit in the back, and shed to store all the lawn/yard stuff.

Now to the good stuff.

Garage is smaller then I'd like, but I'll deal. Two car garage, with a side entry. It's 20'D x 19'W, and is physically attached to the house but no entry, you have to exit the side garage door and turn right and walk a few steps to the house. I like it because smells/fumes/noise will not go directly into the house. Less trouble for me to get into.:rocker:

The garage needs some work, but good potential and something to work with.

One thing for instance, it has a heater/a/c unit which is older and powers up, yet the garage is not insulated except against the house.

The garage door is newer, but looks like the kids of the previous owner played hockey... :sad: Tons of little dents in front.

The garage door, has some issues so I'll be posting about that too. Think the gear is bad.

Plans include insulating it, putting up slatwall on main area of walls, the bottom 2 foot or so going to be putting FRP panels, air line tucked cleanly behind and then getting cement smoothed because of the pitting and then epoxying it or putting somekind of Racedeck on it.

What looks to me to be a heater/AC unit. I ran heat from it and it worked from what it felt like...






Pesky light mounting block. Made from wood, two peices, one shaved to fit the siding... I am replacing light, and putting a matching one on the other side too.


Weird control thing, pretty sure it's an old door opener...

100amp. It has enough knockouts. What's the inside look like ? I believe you can run 220 right from there. It's a 100amp sub-box right? Can you get breakers for it?

That old ringer for the phone could be tied in with the doorbell as well. I've seen old doorbells resemble that.

When I plug it in, it's instantly ringing nonstop. :dunno:

Well Saturday, I got my Dakota from my mom's to our house. Third time since I've had it since I bought it in 2006 that it's driven in snow. License plate is even "Alg 2 Sno" (Allergic to snow).



Cleared out space to park it which I never did. Picture was while putting box together.





Then put together my HF Rolling cart! :D

After emailing back and forth two days I was able to go pick up these bad boys this morning with the help of my nephew.. 4'x8' doublesided slat wall display boards! :beer: Got 9 of them, so 18 total slatwalls. AND they have the steel tracks in them!! :thumbup:

Going to take the slatwall off the metal frames, and put on the walls after painting them. Gotta insulate first though.

Looking good! love the dakota. I'm currently working on my own project as well. 92 bagged, 20's 4-linked, z'ed. Complete rebuild from the bottom up.

I am on OMT but havent been on there in years. I went to the show this year but didnt take the dime. I just hungout with the droptout guys.

Got about 1/4 of the garage insulated today.







Got more done after this but yeah. Luckily I don't have to do the wall against the house. Saves me a lot of work.

Finished the other half of the right wall. Have two panels where that shelf is but will do those when I get more room made and a hand. Had a casualty, broke off the right side of the cabinet but it was a single peice attached.







And using this bad boy along with a jig saw. Being I do decals/banners and the relevant part, signs, it's been very useful.

Fittings were ordered for air compressor plumbing.. Now gotta get couplers and air line. Working on insulating more tonight.
