black snap-on toolbox with red drawers?

I have just ordered a Snap-On road chest and a KRA2318 roolcab.

Unfortunately my Snap-On guy cannot get a 2318 in any 'regular' colours for 8to 10 weeks. The only one he could get has a part# of KRA2318phn, which doesn't even come up in his computer. He talked to a guy at the depot and found out that it is a black box with red drawer fronts. This is as much information as I have been able to get.

Does anyone have a link to a picture of the box in question? The only Snap-On box I've ever seen that was vaguely similar to that was one that had red aluminum anodized drawer fronts, and was ugly IMHO.

It is not too late to cancel or change the order. My Snap-on guy has a KRA2312 in black that I'm going to look at, but really preferred the layout of the 2318, with the greater number of smaller drawers.

Does anyone have any suggestions for alternative boxes? I realise the KRA line is the low end, but I need a lot of storage and my box never gets moved, so doesn't need to be built like a tank. Also, my cost is $1396cdn on the 2312 and $1496cdn on the 2318.

I have a KRA2411 and it has been awesome in my book, no problems from it what so ever. Its a little bigger than what you have been looking at but It very closely bridges the gap between the KRA and KRL series boxes. Now admittedly I only paid 1500 new for mine so at full msrp you might be better off going with a slightly used KRL. I think the black box with red drawer fronts would look pretty sharp IMO.

Sorry to bump, but I have to change/cancel my order on Monday or Tuesday.

Any input would be appreciated.

Sounds pretty sharp.. but I'd ask for a discount perhaps since you are more than likely taking a box that someone special ordered then refused or something.

I'd say its a good solid box.. several of our techs have them. I'd really be curious to see how the color scheme looks as the only thing I've seen painted up like this is the the boxes with the anodized fronts like you mentioned.

Thanks Diesel-Mech and justinmc. I actually just pulled the trigger on a red KRL722A, solving all my problems (except financial ones).

I can hardly wait, I'm going from a cheapo, garbage, black 40" x 18" roll cab and cheapo red 26" chest, to a matching red Snap-On road chest and 54" x 24" KRL roll cab.

Should be a little bit of an upgrade....

I have the black with red anodized fronts. I gather that you don't like them, but I love mine. here's a pic.

I'm actually trying to find a side cab that matches. but I can't find any of the anodized boxes, let alone a side cab, on snapons site.
