One of the better Wiha deals I've seen, and my all-time favorite screwdriver handle design.

If you click on "Wiha" under the main product title, it'll take you to other Wiha products that are eligible for the same 10% off promo that applied to this set.

Edit: The price drops to $107 when you checkout.

For those that want mostly Torx drivers:

12 piece Torx softfinish set for less than $57
20 piece softfinish set mixed set w/ 7 Torx drivers, 13 misc. others, for a hair over $63

The only reason I didn't bite on the deal myself, is b/c I don't really have a need for all those Torx. That, and I plan on ordering a random assortment of new drivers to test out and review, so my screwdriver drawers are going to be full enough as is.

terabyte - if you think it's bad now, just wait until you see what I have up my sleeves... =) mwahahaha

I want the Torx drivers with out the rest.
I knew I saw such a set before, so I took a few minutes to search for and find it. I added links to the original post.

12 piece Torx set for a bit less than $60. The difference in price is due to this being a superior handle. I cannot find a Torx set in the 3K handles that aren't close to Wiha's prices. Sorry.

With $49 for the 3K set and $9 shipping via Wiha directly, you may as well go with the soft finish set.

why do you like the 3k handles best? Is it an ergonomics thing or ease of cleanup thing.
For a handful of reasons. In terms of Wiha's entire lineup, the soft finish are a bit nicer, but at a much higher cost.

Wiha's 3K screwdrivers have (at least I believe they have) the same shanks as Wiha's regular duty driver line. They are quite easy to cleanup, although I don't use them in messy environments, they are comfortable to use, they're extremely durable, and they're very affordable.

I have tried "premium" consumer level screwdrivers, and they don't quite match up. I've tried premium professional drivers, and are afraid to use them since many (lower quality) fasteners tear up driver tips too easily.

Basically, the performance to cost ratio is the highest that I've ever seen. The soft finish have slightly better performance but at a much higher cost, and I haven't found any drivers (yet) which perform 'much' better. I'm quite eager to give Wera a try, but to be honest, I'm in no hurry.

Hmm, I spotted this set just to see if the 18+ clause was mentioned elsewhere, and the wording was really odd... Please note that this item has been charged at intervening prices since first offered for sale. Intervening prices? I'm fairly certain that "intervening" is not a substitute for "intermediate" in any form of english.

That's the law, again. If you sell something at a sale price in the UK it has to have been at the original price you are claiming for a certain length of time.
This stopped people from bringing cheap stuff in at Sale time and claiming a Sale price that wasn't, really.
So, the item is shown as £4.99, reduced from £9.99. That's a saving of £5 right?
Well, no, it may have been down to £5.99 for a period, then back up to £7.99, then back down to £6.99 in the "intervening" period - ie, in the period between it being £9.99 and now £4.99.
But the bottom line is tghat it MUST have been for sale at £9.99 at some time in the past.

oh and yeah, catalogues and websites over here are no more free of bad grammar than they are anywhere else.
I blame the teachers :)

I've seen that disclaimer at US retailers, mostly online, as well. I have also seen, especially at Macys, the disclaimer "no sales may have been made at this price" with the asterisk next to the "regular" or "original" price.

Mine arrived last night, I'm very happy with these. The handle has a real nice feel, not too small or large, the black areas are slightly soft, the blue is a hard plastic. Well worth the money in my opinion. The Wera screwdrivers I purchased a couple of months back seem to be of better quality, but the Wiha pieces are far above the Craftsman drivers they are replacing.

My set came packed inside a decent quality Stack On branded plastic tool box with a lift out tray at no extra charge. Having a few canvas bags that I prefer to use when I need to carry tools, I wrapped the empty tool box back up in the shipping box and gave it to my 4 year old son. He went around today and has gather all of his "play" tools together and put them in his new tool box. Once again, as the saying goes the apple has not fallen far from the tree.

Micro-Tools, also on amazon has it for $122 Link. In august I bought some whia tools from them and they sent them out really fast. I really like whia tools a lot. I have a bunch of there precision screwdrivers. The tips are really tough. I use them a lot at work on high end printers, scanners and laptop repairs.
