I don't think it is a simple yes/no answer - which seems to be a shared opinion in the discussion.

- It has to be garage / automotive / tool related.
- You have to give first chance to the board before listing on eBay.
- Something is wrong if of your 25 posts 24 of them are eBay listings in the classifieds...

I have to say I like the fact that this is a discussion and a vote on the matter instead of the mod's just banning someone or deleting posts. I've seen that happen on other forums and it turns into a real mess. Makes me proud to be a part of this forum.
I'm asking because I honestly don't know what's appropriate. I don't want to PO my forum friends by linking to my auctions, if that's frowned upon. So far the numbers are running 56% "don't advertise" to 44% "it's OK to advertise."
No way do I want to offend 56% of the forum (on this issue, at least!), so I won't do it. I wouldn't advertise if it offended only 20%.
And I can understand...I see some people with less than 10 postings, trying to drive traffic to their ebay auctions, and it rubs me the wrong way.

I don't allow ebay posting on my forums. We have a strong for sale format that has been worked on for the 6 years that we have been in service.
Plus ebay doesn't kick anything my way when I send them people looking for parts.
