That's is pretty cool for $55 I would give it a chance if I was closer. Are you going to pick it up?

No, I just bumped into it in the CL tool section. I thought it was unusual and the folks here might get a kick out of it.

Those show up fairly often on farm auctions around here.
ALWAYS beat to death, and often with the horn broken off. As stated earlier, they are hollow cast.

I bought one a few years ago for $25 with the stand. It's in worse shape than that one, but they still or more of a novelty than useful IMO.

Several of the vises in that link look suspiciously like Peddinghaus.

There's more than one company that uses the Peddinghaus brand name, and the non Ridgid one supposedly does get their anvils from Kanca. I don't know whether any of the vises are acquired from Kanca.

The Ridgid Peddinghaus anvils and vises are supposedly fabricated in Germany, or possibly Belgium according to what one dealer said.

Kanca does seem to manufacture some of the forged steel vises carried by other manufacturers.

I bought this one a couple of years ago and turned around and traded it for something more useful to me and more valuable overall. But honestly I regret letting it go. It was only going to be a decorative item but I did like having it around.

It's the only one I've seen with the anvil horn parallel with the vise jaws.

That one looks like it was a homemade one by Frankensteining a couple of pieces together. The vise part looks like a leg post vise that was lopped off pretty high up and had a small anvil welded to the other end. Still really cool looking :rocker:.
