I have been working on a 24x30 shop for the last few months and debating on what kind of floor I wanted in there. After talking with Scotty at Legacy for a while on the phone-and looking at the budget and time frame I had to install, I decided on the HD6525-MMA sealer. My dad and I prepped it per the FAQ page on the site with an acid etch. We prepped this Friday night and placed a few fans getting ready for the first coat to go on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning I had a couple of lingering water spots, so I cranked up my Stihl blower and took care of those. We used 3/8 nap rollers and put a good wet coat on the floor.

After waiting about 4 hours to make sure it cured and was ready for the second coat. We followed this with a second and third coat, the third coat included mixing in some of the fine anti slip material. After letting the floor dry for several hours (5+), I was able to finally get a look at the finished product.

I am very pleased with the outcome and would do it again. I wanted to do the epoxy, but this was a better fit for my time frame of install and easier on the budget. My dad has even expressed wanting to do this in his garage after seeing the finished product as well. Time will tell how it stands up, but the look is great and everyone that sees it has said how nice it looks.

I'm assuming that you used the gloss?
Has anyone used the matte finish? I would like to see some pictures of matte because that's what I think I'm going to use.

Was the acid etch for bonding purposes, or was that for style/color (like an acid stain)?

Also, what made you pick the 6525 over a cheaper densifier (HD-39)? Sorry to quiz you down, I was just planning to do something similar soon. Great looking application!

Thank you for the post and pictures. I carefully considered HD 6525 but decided on the whole primer, epoxy , sealer shabang. I hope to finish next week and will post my story. I look forward to comparing notes with you and other enthusiasts on short and long term results.

I did go with the gloss. Having been in the military and having worked in huge hangars, I like the shine.

The acid etch was to give the sealer something to bite into. My floor was extremely smooth having been power troweled when poured. I just wanted to make sure it bonded well. I chose the 6526 over densifier because of the look and the ease of installation. I would have loved to go full epoxy, but didn't have the time to install.

Looks great...

I just did this and ended up with blotchy spots and streaks from the roller. Not sure why though.

The bottom 3 foot is 24 gauge stainless steel. I wanted to use aluminum diamond plate but ran across this for a deal. It's defiantly different and I love the look.

That looks sweet! Exactly the look that I'm after. I'm curious about one thing. You mentioned that you did all your prep work on Friday evening and then applied the sealer the next morning. Did your concrete dry up that quickly? I was under the impression that the floor would have to be bone dry when applying an acrylic sealer. Everything appear to be holding up well?

I had a couple of wet spots that I dried with my Stihl leaf blower, but it was dry everywhere else with just a couple of fans on it overnight. I have since moved all of my equipment/tools in there and its holding up great. EVERYONE that sees the shop comments on the floor.
