Ha, I'll suggest that they add a field for your teachers name :)

You should see them shipping in September.

looks like a very nice air tool; but I am waiting for one that runs as quiet as a cat burglar in a police station during a change shift.

IR if you guys are reading this post, my hearing is going south keep making them lower in noise and you will get my dollars asap.

PS: Good job on the quiet series:thumbup::thumbup:

wow! Looks like a beast! The new proto has competition now! The handle still looks too far back for my liking.

The new line of Matco impacts (as well as NAPA) are made overseas by Professional Tool Products. They are built to look like IR, but they are not IR.

Interesting. I just had to order a repair part from my local IR this morning - wish I had known about this then, I would have inquired. I don't need that kind of power often in my line of work, but it does come up on occasion. My 231h handles everything I've put it to so far and when it falters I borrow a 2135. So far the only thing they both failed to remove required a torch.

Aw man! I always have to have the latest and greatest. My 2135 qtimax is now old...

The 2135 has been on top for quite a while now, it's time to name a successor (and w/ good timing too, I think a lot of people have written off pneumatic impact because of how strong cordless impacts have become, at least this will make some rethink).

We have loud impacts and quiet 2135's at work and I have never noticed any slight difference.

Also I want to add the 2135 impacts we share at work are heavily abused never oiled and never greased and they never seem to fail. My 2135 is well taken care of. I need to order a boot for it.

Please tell me it will be made in the USA and I will buy one.

What's retail price?

My 2135TIMAX is still kicking some serious *** in the shop; it won't die and I would hate to put it out to pasture just now.

If it was entirely made in the USA tick would be a big selling point .

At the risk of sounding like a spoiled, impatient brat, is a 3/8" version going to be available soon?

I don't know that Proto impact I have is one tough impact. Hopefully, IR will have these at SEMA/AAPEX this to fondle.:bounce:
They'll be available before SEMA so you will definitely be able to check them out at SEMA if you haven't already seen one by that time.

So there is no power difference in your quiet and non quiet guns?

The Quiet version is rated at 30 ft-lbs(3%) less than the non-quiet which takes it down to 900 ft-lbs Max / 1300 ft-lbs Nutbusting.

They are assembled in North Carolina with a large percentage of the components made in the US, as well.

What about the older model Matco impacts? My Matco guy told me that Ingersol made their impacts, and that was a big selling point for me. This was probably 4 years ago at the time. It is the older cased composite impact, looks just like Ingersol stuff but with a red Matco case on it.

Yes, Matco has sold rebadged IR impacts for years.
