Because someone expressed a concern about "rushing the idea to market" and reducing overall participation, I'd like to ask you guys to show your preference for the timing of SK Day.

I know Labor Day was brought up, and if we want to do that day, we can do it next year. But this year our SK rep needs some time to prepare, so that's too early.

Please select your option from the attached poll. We are obviously going to have a variety of preferences. I'll have to go with the majority or plurality.

September 23rd is my current favorite as it allows for a "Fall for SK" play on the first day of the new season.

Others of you might prefer a later date to allow for more time saving money, or you might believe more people will participate if it is later for one reason or another.

Thank you. This event should be awesome!

I already know what items I'd like. I just need to see what kind of prices will be offered before I know how much of the list I'll buy. Any time is fine by me.

9/23 is close enough to my birthday that I could work with that... grin... but realistically, any time after would be fine as well.

Fall is also good because typically people are not on expensive vacations or expensive holidays.

Fall for SK... Catchy, I like it. Bet the SK guy loves that too. I agree about not leaving it too late.

Nice to be quoted, sort of.

As a business owner, even I can get carried away with a great idea. I have people around me that reminds me to be pragmatic in pushing something worthwhile to market.

It wasn't intended to dissuade interest, nor my support for the SK day.

I'm simply voicing a sound of caution, in making sure the day is unilaterally adopted, so you can mitigate the "I wish I had more time to save for this" posts or threads.

Hi Jason,

I had to modify your quote yo a paraphrase because of the tensing of what you said and what I needed to say.

I thought your opinion was good enough to make sure I wasn't rushing the affair, hence this poll. Thank you for speaking up.

I do still wonder why you yourself are bowing out of SK Day unless it is later than 9/23. You don't need to answer, of course.

My mistake, if I made you think that I am not participating. I am.

Literally, highlighted dozens of tool models and numbers today, that I'll be holding off for buying on SK Day, to support GJ.

I'm also getting a few of my guys to consider purchasing on SK day as well.

Whenever SK Day is, I'm in 100%.

I'm willing to do what it takes to show SK that we have buying power.

Fall for SK sounds good to me, late Sept should suffice for most to get some funds in order.

Bumping this up so folks see it. far fewer votes here than we have people planning to participate. Make your preference known.

I'm also going to ask our rep if he has a timing preference.

I voted for the 23rd. I would like it sooner, but understand there's a bit of coordinating involved. With that said here's my basic question;

Will there be a particular vendor we need to purchase thru? Will we give this vendor a unique code to prove who we are for the discount? What is the discount?

This is important because I am replacing all my HF stuff in my truck box with SK. I could have done SO too, but the point is my driver will miss out on the sale so I want to make sure this is worth it for me. I am sure some others that want to make larger purchases feel the same way with their driver (if they like them).

Just an update here.

I talked to our SK rep and Epstein's is going to have a meeting with SK on Tuesday to try and figure out what kind of promos we can offer. So stay tuned. I will hopefully have some answers for you next week.

We do plan on adding SK's entire line of tools on our website, and will be extremely competitive with anyone else selling online. There's some exciting ideas being thrown around about promos, but I'll save any details until more things are firmed up.

In the SK thread it says epstiens is who will purchase thru. They are meeting Tuesday I believe to try and hash out some details. I doubt it'll be a huge overall discount as opposed to maybe 4 or 5 killer deals.

Ah Epsteins...the place I thought was a flea market. Unfortunately I didn't have time to scour all the threads for the details. Great opportunity for a local business to step up. Hopefully it's a success across the board.

The Fall for SK on 9/23 works for me.

I caution the something for nothing bunch not to ruin this event by demanding huge discounts. The intent as I see it, is to support SK and their American made tools and not necessarily get the buys of your lifetime. Just look at some of the recent threads about domestic tool plant closings to see how US Made tools could be extinct some day:dunno:

I am in 100% agreement with this sentiment, and it's important.

Anytime I have helped put together one of these events, starting with the very first Epstein's Day, a core value has been a belief in supporting USA businesses. I don't want these very businesses to feel like our support is there only if they bleed out discounts for us. Yes, they are great incentives, but I'm not looking for any legendary price reductions here.

Totally agree, discount was mentioned, but I'm buying, discount or not. All the ranting I've been doing about keeping US mfd tools here, time to put my money where my mouth is !

If it going to be a one day event I would just hope prices at least as good as tooltopia a regular prices
