Hey GJ,
Long time lurker, but I finally decided now that I'm progressing along with my garage plans that I better get a account lined up and start documenting this.
I purchased the house this May 2014 and am still settling into home ownership. When purchasing my first home, my only concern was the garage. Everything else was flexible.
Picture of home upon purchase:
Anyway, onward to the "build".
Quick Garage Bio:
-Built in 2005
-24x28ft
-Insulated Walls/Roof
-10.5ft Tall
-"Shelving" already installed upon purchase (will be removing most)
-10x25 Gravel/Cement block parking pad beside garage
-Wired for 220v w/ outlet
The bad:
NO PONY WALLS + CANADIAN WINTER
(Needing to sort out my water seepage issue)
Here are some photos I took to begin, garage is 24x28 (Approx). It can hold 2-3 cars somewhat comfortably with room for all my tools and such.
Excuse the photography - I'm currently up at site and the only photos I have access to are my Flickr account so I will update as I go.
Here is what the 10x30 parking pad looked like when I purchased the house. I had to take down that stupid gate, it barely moved and was apparently installed by a 3 year old.

Did some trim painting, old stuff was terrible.
More trim painting and changed out the light to one that is a little better, will be going LED with these two ASAP.
Went LED motion with the light facing my parking pad and garage entrance.
I've signed the contract to get the gas line ran to just outside the garage from my meter, and I've also coordinated getting the trenching done for that gas line hopefully for this next set off (Starting the 28th).
Will also be tearing out a bunch of drywall and getting some electrical work done in preparation for the hoist, air compressor and all the lighting.
