Anyone have experiences with TSC's oversize hand truck? I saw it in the store and thought it looked pretty damn cool.

Note this is much larger than HF's "Bigfoot" hand truck (which I own):

I looked for an equivalent at HF but could not find one. I believe I found a Roughneck-branded equivalent at Northern:
http://www.northerntool.com/shop/tools/product_200624028_200624028?isSearch=42670

and at $99 it's $20 less than TSC is asking, until you figure in there is not a Northern store even remotely close to me and they want $121 in truck freight to get it to me, meaning I now have a $220 hand truck.

Right now I have a 10% coupon for TSC and an $8 gift to return, meaning I should be able to get this unit for around $100 plus tax. I think I'm gonna do it, I like the larger frame and 15" tires. Note this thing stands 5'1" high, that's pretty big as dollies go.

edit: the Northern Roughneck product claims 13" wheels online, so it may not be comparable

Ok, I grabbed it today. As planned it was $120 less my 10% coupon less my $8 gift return put it at $100 plus tax. I had a hard time balancing it on my small bathroom scale in the shop but it's every bit of 60 lbs (which is also stated on the TSC website). Rolling it around is like driving a "monster truck" dolly.

I think it'll come in handy! Pictured next to my 13" HF "Bigfoot" hand truck.

HF has a hand truck bigger than bigfoot. I was thinking of that for moving wider stuff. My bigfoot has been through its paces and on a second set of tires. The frame is bent. I guess the 700 limit is correct.

I was cutting the tag off this the other day and noticed COO is Taiwan. Hmm, I'll take it, I had just assumed China.

If the TSC one is made by the same manufacturer that makes the 4 wheeled gorilla carts they sold eventually the hubs on the wheels will crack off. The wheels look the same. They sheared right through the rim but were easily fixed with a little bit of weld. Of course it probably was overloaded everytime we used it.

If it makes you feel any better it might be just me. I also snapped all of the rim bolts holding the two halves of the rim together on the bigfoot dolly moving an engine block.

How wide are the wheels? Probably not great for ramps on moving trucks and such.

It's about 26.5" overall sidewall to sidewall. Roughly 21" center to center of tires.

No, not great for average use I'd say. Of course a tool need not be necessary or even all that practical for me to want it :D

Hmm, that would actually still work on my wheelchair ramps. Uhaul's ramps are 26" so no go there.
