Linens & Things stores are all going out of business (please correct me if I'm wrong). I was at the one on rt18 in East Brunswick, NJ earlier today, even though I've seen the OOB sign for a while now.

I noticed that they're selling everything- shelving, fixtures, and slatwalls... it might be worth checking out if these types of things interest you.

I walked in our local Linen and Things and walked out empty handed. The prices were totally out to lunch. Even with the discount the prices were more expensive than to buy it else where at the regular price. For example my wife needed some baking trays and the cheapest one was $19. A similar size and quality at Canadian Tire was $7 (unsure if same brand).

give it more time and prices should continue to drop. Should be some great deals for garage shelving or storage.

Same thing with Circuit City. They are closing two stores near me that have only been open about a year. So far they are clearing out inventory but I'm sure they will get to the fixtures. Sometimes the good garage stuff is in the back room.

My wife and I were in the one in Lawrenceville, Georgia last weekend and it was the same story. They had prices on all the shelves, racks and dispaly cases as well...

There was a local place that went out here awhile back... went in to price the slat wall, etc.. everything was actually handled through a liquidation company who was in control of the assets. Lets just say as mentioned above.. the prices were NUTS. Way too high for used slatwall, etc IMHO. I forget the prices now but it was pretty close to new.

I'll have to try a couple local linens and things and such... but might get lucky in the Circuit City install bays. Sometimes they have good workbenches, etc.

We just had a True Value Hardware store close up; selling all stock and fixtures. They started at 20% off and added 5% each day. I got all kinds of great stuff, mostly 80-90% off since I live close and went each day. It is very weird to buy stuff at 95% off.

Also got four 4x8' heavy duty pegboard display units with shelving and racks of all kinds for $25 each. Wished I had room for more.
