Man, the last two weeks have been downright good to me.
First a near-mint Union/Parker 954B, then a Yost 204.
Yesterday a Trenton anvil, and today...
The company has a Wilton on every Lyon worksurface at work (probably 30 of them!).
Today i noticed a nice Wilton 400 on the site that was paintmarked "personal property" and find out via the site manager that the owning employee had quit years ago and abandoned the vise. Told me I was the first person to ask about it and I was welcome to haul it off.
It was covered with black spray paint... a crappy coat at that.
You could see the original blue paint on the bottom as it was apparently painted after it had been mounted, Even the Wilton badge had been sealed over with paint.
Got it home amd broke it down, then did an abbreviated cleanup with the brushcup along with the Trenton Anvil I acquired yesterday.
It's in like new shape, it still had what Iooked like a "QC Inspected" sticker on the bottom of the swivel base. It is also apparent that the jaws have had aluminum pads since day one. it is stamped as being manufactured in 2004.
As acquired:

As it sits now:

The badge WAS perfect until I accidently got a bit of MEK on it:

I'm was thinking about the sharp looking Verde Green paint scheme I saw here on GJ, but now I'm considering just leaving it unfinished and wax coating it. I really like the bare iron look.
