Did a quick stop at my local Sears tonight and got extremely pissed off. They never have any stock of tools, nothing is ever organized, and the prices are never correct/current/posted, etc.
So the wife and I ride over to another Sears and I start digging around while she hits a maternity store. I look and don't find anything too impressive, until I get to where the table saws, drill presses, etc are located. I see a sign that is just laying there, on no particular product, that says "Originally $1,299, Clearance $***.**"
I look around and all I see is a ********* roll away box. So I start digging into it and it is LOADED. I spend the next 30 minutes googling my *** off to determine it is a General Mechanics Took Kit. It's full of wrenches, ratchets, and sockets in SAE and Metric made in the USA primarily from Craftsman, but also Armstrong and SK and a ton of other awesomeness. I take note that it is missing the Gerber multitiool and the multimeter from the top. So I go talk to the guy and ask him if that's the best he can do considering it's missing pieces. He asks the manager. She comes back and makes me an offer I can't refuse.
Best I can tell, it originally retailed for around $3,079, but went closeout for around $399. I am going to add a few items to the top and keep it as a travel kit. Loving this thing.
