Supposed to VS, not VX. Can't edit the title.
Somewhere in early 80's I was working on a vintage Mercedes trying to break loose a drain plug or something. Can't remember if it was square, and the 12 point 9/16 fit, or if was a hex. Doesn't really matter. There was no room to put a socket and 1/2 breaker bar or large ratchet.

I had a Mac 9/16 wrench on it and was pushing as hard as I could... with my foot. I felt it move just a bit, and thought it had broken loose. Looked at the wrench, and the bend you see in the Mac wrench is what I felt "move", not the plug.

Got the Snap on wrench out and put it on the same plug, pushing with the same foot. Plug came loose and the wrench held up.

From time to time I see Snap on bashing on this site. Many guys believe they are simply overpriced, and the price cannot be justified. However, on that particular day, I was glad to have a set of Snap on combination wrenches. Granted, MOST OF THE TIME a Craftsman or other garden variety tool will work fine. Most of the time. For some things, you just can't beat a Snap on. I really like my Snap on swivel sockets.

I haven't worked on cars for a living since 1989. I still have lots of Snap on tools, along with some Mac and some Cornwell. Virtually no Matco (other than one 3/8 ratchet that I found under a car hood), as the poor quality of their screwdrivers (at least in the late 70's when they split with Mac) put me off, and I wasn't interested in second chances.
