$350 for the official toolbox of Garage Journal, cheapest I've seen it in a long time!

I suppose that's a good price on it, but it's $389 in the October ad. $40 isn't the huge savings I typically look for on Black Friday, but it is a good price.

Black Friday deals have been pretty weak at all stores these past few years.

The competition to keep prices as low as possible all year round, and the perpetual sales that retailers use to keep customers in their stores have weakened the effect of BF.

Since the economy tanked in 2008 consumers have gotten used to only buying at rock bottom prices. Now that things are improving, that trend hasn't changed. Making the rush to the bottom of retail pricing a continuing trend.

Still, there are a lot of people who rush out and act like idiots on BF, thinking they can save pennies while spending dollars. .................... Riots at Walmart ?!? Really ?!!!! :wtf:

I'll save the gas and hassle, and wait for Cyber Monday. :lol_hitti

In addition to jake's point, retailers have figured out that their consumers are stupid. So the retailer advertises the one doorbuster (only 3 units available at each store), and then keep everything else regular price or even RAISE prices. Then the hordes sweep in and the buying frenzy commences without any thought. Retailers don't need to offer deals on BF anymore because the legend of BF sells their product for them.

Oh, and the increasing importance of internet sales "cyber Monday" drives down the importance of BF.

We always hit Toys 'R' Us and typically do pretty well. My biggest ***** is that it keeps starting earlier every year. Pretty soon there won't be a Thanksgiving at all if you plan to Black Friday shop.

Word. Seems more stores are jumping on the trend of opening on Thanksgiving day (or at midnight) to get a jump on the spending. I won't participate in that just on principle that their employees ought to have the day to spend with their families.
