Picked up an interesting older Snap On breaker bar, likely dated from the '40s. Model number is F-10-HG, and is in decent condition. Never seen one with the male end canted at an angle, but looks pretty neat.

Funny story but I found 3 of them in nos and I bought one, Full retail and 100x times the 1940 price.:lol_hitti

When I get the chance I will hunt for it and take a picture, I remember it had no chrome from the war years; I also thought it was cool having the head at such a different angle.

Haha!

I ended getting it for fairly cheap, think I paid around $3 for it at one of the local pawn shops. It's certainly the oldest breaker bar I've come across, but not the oldest Snap On tool I've found.

I love those!
G date code is 1945.
Here's one that I think is a bit later with a straight drive plug and no date code stamp.

I'd be curious to know if the drive angle was a military request, or simply something Snap On was trying....

off topic..but speaking of different angle breaker bars, only one i have seen before that snap on was Unior and in 1/4 drive only...3/8,1/2 drives were "normal" angle

Figures after paying an arm & a leg and the guy telling me it was brand new, darn you can not trust anyone these days...

I know this because 30 years ago I bought a small set of Snap On 1/2" deep sockets with a "free" 1/2" ratchet. It is on the 3/8" handle marked LSF720, and there is an E on the handle. Also has the black hard handle. My dealer told me the E was for exchange tools that are refurbished and re-sold. Chances are that yours is simply an E date code.

I'm a bit late on this thread, but an "E" indicates it was made in 1944.

I found this same breaker at an estate sale today and found this thread trying to figure out its story. Pretty neat to find stuff from the war years!
