Anyone using the Sunex thinwall stuff?

Images show chrome and wheel protect sleeve but I am looking for impact and clearance. I kind of assume it will be black.(?)

They work (cr-mo) but are definitely a consumable. My 17 split after about a year of moderate use. Haven't tried to warranty it. Went to a set of koken sleeved wheel sockets and Sunex 284915 which are much deeper (for long lug studs). The koken are expensive but I expect to last much longer and the astro are necessary for my race car (sunex got a lot of use on there).

I think as long as you go in knowing the thin wall stuff is going to eventually split (ie, might get two if losing it would be a problem productivity-wise), you'll be fine. Given that, this is one case where I think confirming warranty coverage and using ease-of-warranty in your purchase decision makes sense.

I have an identical set from hf. They will break after a while but are as thin as I've seen and the while set cost as much as a thicker single snap on thin wall.

Thanks both of you!

I went through the ko-ken 2013 cat. today and SO site too. No 15mm from HF that would work.

Probably should figure out if I am gifting tools and do a single Ko-ken order soon.

correction - went to the koken and http://www.amazon.com/dp/B002PUXFMS/?tag=atomicindus08-20 an astro pneumatic set for extra long lug studs. don't have enough use on them to draw a conclusion. would guess them to be about as durable as the sunex (visually - not that that means anything - they appear very similar in construction to the sunex). the only reason i got them is that the koken aren't deep enough for extended depth studs (~1.5" of the stud extends past outer edge of a seated lug nut). i highly doubt they would be an issue for any OEM stud. and the quality... :) reminds me of wright or SO.
