Several months ago Elroy made some rather nasty comments about Williams Tools due to a defective 3/8" slider sold to him as new.

Please allow Elroy to inform you that Williams Tool was even less thrilled with the quality of that tool than Elroy.

Here are a few shots of the initial problem:

And here is the solution:

Looks a LOT BETTER!

As you can guess, the new replacement is on the far side

Yep dated 2008!

Be advised, Williams Management is active on the board and fully committed to seeing that their customers are satisfied with their product.

Elroy is satisfied!

Elroy thinks that new Williams Ratchet looks damn good. He's going to be checking them out. Suggest you do the same.

I think that first one was sent through the SK QA line.

Who should I contact about an 18" J. H. Williams adjustable wrench that has the adjusting screw frozen to the retainer screw? It adjusts all of 1/2 an inch. I have tryed everything to get it loose to no avail.

If you don't have a local dealer then just mail it in with your contact info and they will 6 weeks later maybe have a replacement at your door.

Other than the 6 weeks it took and the disappointing B-52EHA ratchet I got back for an old B-51 they don't have that bad of a warranty system. The Breaker bar they sent to me was one of the best made ones I have ever seen though (i'm guessing SO must not of ruined that production yet).

I plan on picking up their 1/4" drive flexhead soon. Does anyone have their round head 72 tooth ratchets? How are they?

Elroy I'm glad they took care of that for you. That sliding T made me ashamed of all the times I've recommended Williams.

Stanger my older round heads are great. I haven't bought a new one in 3 years or so tho.

I have the newer pearhead 1/4 flex. It is very nice with the long handle.

YES they did. All it took was a post on THIS board and like magic, Elroy's problem was taken care of. Couldn't have better words for them.

Elroy just might look into that. Looks like Williams has returned to Elroy's "shopping list". THANK YOU for posting up.

Seriously. These Williams folks came through for Elroy. If you're looking for tools with a warranty that has pair of nuts, Elroy would recommend Williams.

It doesn't get much better than a endorsement from Elroy, this makes me lust after some Williams hard handle torx drivers even more.
