Paid $170, doesn't say it is on sale but that is definitely not the regular price. This has been on my list for a while. Think it was $220 a few weeks ago at HD.

It's been $170 for the whole holiday season now, it goes in and out of stock though.

It is a sweet gun. Only thing I don't like is the pin detent, got to keep a small screw in the case. Not as much power as the IR iq 20v serise but battery life is better on the Milwaukee 4.0 batterys

They make a friction ring version. Like in the OPs post.

I recently bought the Milwaukee Fuel 1/2" 2655-20 compact impact with the pin detent at HD. Seems to be the only version of this model they stock in-store at my local HD stores. As a weekend DIY'er, I plan to use it mainly on lug nuts doing tire rotations and avoid having to get out my heavy 1/2" Earthquake and dragging an air hose around.

At first I wasn't too sure about it having the pin detent, but quickly warmed up to it since I almost always use a short 1 3/4" extension to prevent the impact wrench from rubbing up against the wheel or tire, especially with deep offset wheels. With the pin detent, I just leave the extension on it at all times, even when storing. What I like, is that the pin detent prevents the extension from wanting to come off along with the socket when I yank on the socket to remove. Also, I feel the pin detent gives me the best of both worlds. Locked on sockets when needed, or locked short extension when wanting to change out socket sizes often. The short 1 3/4" extension actually only adds 1 1/4" in length when installed.

Photos with & without extension.

I just bought one from tylertool a week ago at the regular price. :willy_nil
HD was out of stock at the time.
This thing kicks *** compared to the ridged 1/2 impact! It's heavier & bigger compared to the ridged.

Just an FYI. You can't use the boot and the case. Case won't close with a boot on the tool. I learned the hard way. Thankfully HD took the boots back.

Very aware it's not the same. Not sure what that has to do with it not being a deal or not.

Sounds like you have experience with RuralKing so does backorder equals out of stock then? I don't need it in the next 48 hours.

After reading this I decided to order the pin detent version instead of the ball detent, hope I like it as well as you do .friction ring would have been first choice if it was offered

Glad my comments helped and hope you like it!

BTW, that short 1 3/4" extension is included in the Pittsburgh 4pc impact extension set from HF. Very inexpensive when on sale and using a 20% coupon on top off it! I'm guessing there must be other brands with that short of size, but I wasn't having any luck finding any others when I was looking for one. The super short size almost makes it seem more like an adaptor than an extension!

I just visited my local Home Depot and they had 1 unit on the shelf marked at $169.00. No battery. Quite heavy but that what I was hoping for if this is supposed to take off lug nuts! Man if I did t have 2 sets of Hitachi 18v tools, I wood consider getting this line of Milwaukee. Never realized they had such a beefy impact until I saw this thread initially.

Also learned today if an item's price ends in 3 it's most likely the last markdown.

I've been wanting to get a good impact wrench for a while, and this was on my list. My kid got me a Dewalt Impact 'driver' for Christmas. I guess he didn't realize the difference. I just returned it and now have a $200+ credit at HD. How does the Milwaukee 2763 compare to this DeWalt DCF889HM2?

"300 ft lbs maximum torque". That's old-school cordless impact technology compared to the W7150 and 2763 which are as powerful as air guns

Cool, thanks. I'm glad I checked here first. Unfortunatlly, none of the Home Depots near me have it, and now I'm kind of set on the 2767-20. Amazon is $463 (w/ 2 batteries, charger and case, but at Toolbarn, the same kit is $429 (and no sales tax). Can't seem to find this kit cheaper. I would have liked the $170 for just the tool itself, but those batteries and chargers add up quickly

Negative. The new ones are 400lb torque. The dcf889hm2 is a good kit I personally own it and think it is great, still not as powerful as the two listed. I think the dewalt feels way better in the hand than the Milwaukee , if that even matters. I have no experience with the w7150

On edit the gun posted in the link is 300lb torque .same price will get you the new version 20v same part number and all. It looks different the 300 has a smooth style nose cone where the 400 has horizontal slots on the nose cone. My guess is the 300 version is just left over stock.

The Dewalt listed on Amazon does say 300 ft lbs? As for that Toolbarn I mentioned above, I'm a little leery now after reading reviews about them, that and I found a few other places that have the same kit for $429, including HD. With teh current $25 off deal on Dewalt, it make that about $140 cheaper than the Milwaukee

I'm presently going through the electrification of my tools, replacing hand tools and aged air tools with Milwaukee's M12 Fuel line and impact-quality sockets. Eventually I will step up to the M18 Fuel for this specific impact wrench. Not sure what else in that line would benefit me specifically but the power in this impact is impossible to ignore.

get on HD online type in dcf889hm2 and you will see the difference in the picture of both 20v impacts(different than amazon listing). HD should also have the description that states 400 torque, $299 from HD. its a good impact and you will not be disappointed with it, like said before it is not as powerful as Milwaukee, but plenty powerful for average garage use. the 400lb model just replaced the older 300lb model. I ordered mine from home depot and it is the 400lb model like shown. hope this helps

Just stopped by HD seen my store had the 2663-20 for $169 only 1 same as the online price really wanted the 2763-20 though for $170.93 . Any thoughts on the 2663. I only need to use it for doing some car work need to replace 2 more wheel bearings (already did 2 with hand tools and not doing that again) some brakes and tire rotations and thats about all I'm sure I can use if for some lag screw driving as well when needed.

Some questions do I have to get that one Dewalt combo or will the M18 Fuel Combo work as well for the $150 off and if so what kind of price will I be looking at for the 2663 after the combo return.

Want to keep the 2nd tool not the combo. Thanks

Buy the Milwaukee from zoro on monday
How much will it be ? Thanks

do all the 18V batteries interchange in the 18V milwaukee tools? or are the tools specific to the battery capacity (fuel, 2.0, 4.0)?

Zoro pricing won't pan out for the Milwaukee items I looked up, this beast included. I'll have to peruse their site in the morning though as some other items may make for great deals, even at 30%.

It pains me not to jump on this deal, but I don't have the M18 infrastructure. I'm planning to buy the following for now and maybe revisit the M18 Fuel 1/2" Impact in another year.

$269 - M12 Fuel Hammer Drill, Impact Driver kit (Includes M12 charger & 2 batteries)
$99 - M12 3/8" Ratchet bare tool + FREE M12 battery
$149 - M12 Fuel 3/8" Impact bare tool + FREE M12 battery

Sound like a solid path?
