Y'all are familiar with the garage doors that have the carriage house "look."

So we're in the conceptual stage of the new house.

Due to the shape and size and orientation of the lot and the style of the house, it's going to have two 2-car garages.

One of of the garages, the smaller one, we'll call it "dad's garage," will have two side by side 9x8 (W x H) overhead garage doors in the "carriage house" look. Someday soon we'll be talking about fitting out the interior of dad's garage. But that's a subject for another day.

Originally the bigger garage, the "master garage," was only slightly wider and deeper than the smaller one and similarly had two 9x8 doors. But I'm thinking about stretching it another 3 feet wider, which would allow me to use two 10x8 doors. Now a 10x8 overhead garage door I gather is not exactly nonstandard -- they're out there -- but they're somewhat less common than 9x8 and 9x7 single doors.

So my question is, do the major garage door manufacturers make off-the-shelf "carriage house" look doors in 10x8? Because when I peruse their websites, it's quite obvious from the pictures that most single doors in the "carriage house" style are 9x8 or 9x7. I can't see any direct reference to being able to get them in 10x8. But they don't really talk the availability of specific styles in specific dimensions on the websites.

I'd rather avoid having to get custom doors made. Maybe all of the manufacturers make 10x8 "carriage house" look doors and this is a stupid question. Anybody know?

Just put three 8' x 10' doors on the front of my detached garage - totally standard doors.

can you post a picture I have three 8' x 10' regular panel doors on the front of my garage would like to see how much difference the look would be.
Thanks
Tim

Since you're in the conceptual stage I thought I'd share how we framed around our carriage house style doors. Maybe you were already planning something like this?

We used standard square panel garage doors with standard headers and just framed in a curve under each of the headers. From inside the garage they just look like regular panel garage doors. On the outside, the weatherstripping on the jamb seals right up against the middle of the top panel.
