I've been talking about building a shop for over 20 years I guess. Just ask most of my friends and family. On my 58th birthday my wife says, you know if you're going to build that shop, you better get started. You're not getting any younger you know. The plan is to build a shop to do woodworking, metalworking, mechanic work and a few other trades I've picked up over the years. This will be one of my dreams come true. I look forward to the day when most of my projects are under cover and in progress. This is the start of my build. Thanks for visiting.

I've been digging out of the hillside on the side of my house for the last 15 years waiting for the shop build to start. The guys dropped off the equipment to get the pad ready for the building areas.

The footers were poured. The storage building in the back ground will be 24' by 40'. If I've learned anything over the last decade or two, it's to have room to put your stuff. Not the stuff you're working on, but the stuff you need for later.

The shop will be 36' by 65'.

The forklift has been really handy through the project so far. Got it free from a buddy that was closing down his shop. Had to put new tires on it and rebuild the mast cylinder, but it's been worth it. It'll do more repairs when the shop is done.

Sounds great!

Unfortunately, looks like a pic loading issue from my perspective. Lots of blank posts showing up.

Looking forward to seeing your project!

This is as far as I've been able to get before the rain and cold have totally stopped my project. I have ordered pole barn roof truss for the shop, and they should be ready for pickup on the 12th of this month.

Sorry, I had made a bunch of blank pages to be able to get my info out together. Should be OK now.
