Did a search and couldn't find anything similar so ....

Been below zero for a week, too cold to work on the "barn", so I did this up the last few days. Found one of those kits on ebay that are no longer in production. Pieced together two identical fridges found on craigslist 24' w x 60" tall. swapped the nicer doors off one to the working unit, painted it up, ordered decals and came up with this. Still thinking about a globe for the top. Used to ride with grandpa delivering fuel to Standard/American/Amoco service stations instead of going to the babysitter when I was a kid. I remember the American logo from his truck/terminal. Here ya go gramps, He would've loved this.

Wow....that is a really nice looking fridge! Nice job. What did you look under on eBay for the kits? Thanks.

Searched "gas pump refrigerator", it's a TooCoolKits , I believe they are no longer produced but one pops up once in a while. Got lucky and found this one for 50 bucks. Every search I've tried comes up page not found or no longer available. Summit Racing had them too. There are decals readily available for most of it though. Look under gas pump decals.

I searched for it after posting. I found some old GJ threads talking about it saying it was no longer made.

I'll keep a look out and maybe one will pop up. Thanks, yours looks great!

My brother and I did these a couple years ago. The green '41 Kelvinator originally came from a buddy's grandparents house and now currently lives in the party room above my shop. The black '46 Frigidaire came from our grandparents garage and is now in permanant use in my kitchen. The flamed silver one is a '41 Frigidaire and keeps beer cold in my paint shop. All still work great.

Thanks, guys. The paint we used was just leftover stuff from the shelf. When we put the black and pewter together and split it with dark red pinstripe, it just looked like a Cadillac. My brother just happened to have a brand new Escalade emblem set so it worked out like that. On a side not; This fridge makes my dinky kitchen look huge compared to the big double door that it replaced.
The green one isn't quite done yet. I want to eventually take the door back off and get it pinstriped. It gets lots of compliments with the satin black over glossy green metallic which didn't seem like a real natural combination until after it was done. At some point in it's life the handle was broken and a scrap of metal was bolted across it. I was able to reinforce the backside and epoxy it back together but there were still holes in it from the previous "repair". To disguise it, I wrapped both handles with some suede chord I got at the hobby store.

Wow you guys are so creative, now I'm going to have to be on the lookout for old refridgerators. I gotta stop hanging out here haha.

I have a 1946 Crosley Shelvador that is all original in white but was pinstriped by a friend of my wife. Works great. Sorry I don't have a way to post a pic.

Got an old kegerator for free. Previous owner couldn't get it to work and it sat for 3 years. It was really nasty inside, but a replaced thermostat, some paint, and all new tapping equipment, and I have draft beer!

Here is my beer fridge in the shop. 1950 frigidaire by general motors. If you turn it up any higher than 3 it will freeze your beer, soda, water, or whatever you have in it.

Started like this
